The Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt (TSHA) was the main security office of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. It controlled intelligence services, political police, criminal police, and internal security administration. The office operated under the Allgemeine SS and acted as the highest coordinating authority for security matters.

The TSHA brought different security branches together under one command structure. It ensured that intelligence gathering, policing, surveillance, and enforcement followed the same rules and reporting system.

History

[edit | edit source]

The Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt was founded in 1953 to centralize security authority within the expanding structure of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Before its creation, intelligence and police functions were handled by separate offices with limited coordination.

After 1953, these functions were unified under a single headquarters in Georgetown. The TSHA introduced standardized procedures for investigations, intelligence reporting, detention decisions, and internal monitoring.

Over time, the office became the central institution for internal control across all territories governed by the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.

Structure

[edit | edit source]

The TSHA supervised several main branches. Each branch had its own defined responsibilities but reported directly to the central headquarters.

Geheime Staatspolizei

[edit | edit source]

The Geheime Staatspolizei was responsible for political investigations. It handled cases involving suspected opposition, resistance, or actions considered threats to the regime. It conducted surveillance, interrogations, and arrests in accordance with security directives.

Sicherheitsdienst von Eef Paap

[edit | edit source]

The Sicherheitsdienst von Eef Paap served as the principal intelligence service. It gathered information domestically and internationally within areas of interest to the regime. It produced reports and assessments for the leadership.

Kriminalpolizei

[edit | edit source]

The Kriminalpolizei handled investigations into criminal offenses not officially classified as political. This included serious crimes and economic violations under regime law. Its operations were coordinated through TSHA administrative oversight.

Tanoanischsicherheitsdienst

[edit | edit source]

The Tanoanischsicherheitsdienst carried out protective and internal security duties. It managed checkpoints, screening systems, and monitoring procedures. It worked in coordination with registration and labor classification systems.

Administration

[edit | edit source]

The TSHA operated through a centralized documentation system. All subordinate branches followed standardized reporting formats and filing procedures. Records were linked to identification documents, residence status, and labor assignments.

Reports from regional offices were sent to the headquarters in Georgetown for review and archival storage.

Authority

[edit | edit source]

The TSHA coordinated security operations in all territories controlled by the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. It did not function as a combat unit. Its role was administrative and supervisory, directing subordinate security formations and ensuring compliance with central policy.

Dissolution

[edit | edit source]

The Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt ceased operations on 30 November 2024, when the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed. Its offices were closed and its centralized security structure was dismantled.
