The Werkschutzpolizei was the industrial protection branch of the Ordnungspolizei. It was responsible for securing factories, production facilities, energy plants, and other strategic economic sites within territories governed by the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.

The unit focused on infrastructure security, workforce control, and protection of state-directed industrial operations.

Establishment

The Werkschutzpolizei was established in 1972 as industrial expansion increased across Tanoa and associated territories. As production facilities grew in size and strategic importance, a dedicated police unit was formed to provide permanent on-site security.

The branch operated under central Ordnungspolizei authority and coordinated with facility management and state economic offices.

Structure

The Werkschutzpolizei deployed detachments directly at industrial complexes, ports, refineries, mining operations, and construction zones. Each site was assigned a security commander who reported to regional Ordnungspolizei headquarters.

Personnel wore standardized police uniforms adapted for industrial environments. They were equipped with patrol vehicles, access control systems, and standard service weapons.

The unit coordinated with the Sicherheitspolizei when cases involved sabotage, political activity, or internal resistance within industrial facilities.

Operational role

The Werkschutzpolizei maintained perimeter security, controlled access to restricted areas, and supervised employee identification systems. It monitored production sites to prevent theft, sabotage, and unauthorized gatherings.

Officers conducted inspections of worker permits and residency documentation in coordination with the Verwaltungspolizei. During labor unrest or suspected resistance activity, the unit reinforced internal security measures and assisted in detention operations.

In the 2000s and 2010s, surveillance systems and centralized reporting mechanisms were expanded within major industrial sites.

Later years

In the early 2020s, the Werkschutzpolizei played a key role in securing high-output industrial centers linked to large-scale state projects. Security protocols were intensified, and cooperation with other Ordnungspolizei branches increased.
