During the 20th century, the native population was exterminated. The island later served as a private and restricted site for elite actors. Today, Ravi-ta remains sparsely inhabited and tightly regulated. '''[[Mont Tanoa]]''' is the dormant volcanic massif at the island’s center. The surrounding highlands are environmentally protected and largely uninhabited. The '''[[Southern Jungles (Tanoa)|Southern Jungles]]''' are a vast rainforest region once used for clandestine movement and resistance activity. They are now subject to conservation and limited access.
