== Career ==
El Berkani began working in maintenance in [[Antwerp]] during the 1990s. His early work came through the Moroccan-Belgian community in the city, where he became known for practical repair work.

By the 2000s, El Berkani had moved into roof-drainage work. He used his mechanical experience to repair his own work equipment and keep his costs low.
