== History ==
The office was established in 1944 during the formation of the [[Tanoa Einsatzgruppen]] and the founding of the NSTAP. It formed part of the party's central political structure and remained subordinate to the NSTAP leadership as the state administration expanded.<ref name="nstap-formation"/><ref name="nstap-organization"/> As Tanoan authority extended beyond Tanoa, the office handled political contact involving puppet governments and foreign intermediaries. The establishment of [[SS-Großabschnitt Afrika]] in 1980 created a regional command that worked with the office in Africa.<ref name="africa-period"/> In Großliberia, the office directed external policy while the puppet government retained formal diplomatic offices. The [[Reichsministerium für Koloniale Angelegenheiten]] assumed responsibility when foreign political arrangements resulted in the establishment of a subordinate territorial administration.
