The '''Argeș River''' is a river in southern [[Romania]]. It is a left tributary of the [[Danube]] and one of the main rivers of the southern part of the country.

The river begins in the [[Făgăraș Mountains]], in the [[Southern Carpathians]]. Its upper course is formed by mountain streams including the [[Capra River]] and [[Buda River]], which flow into the area of [[Lake Vidraru]]. From there, the river passes through [[Curtea de Argeș]] and [[Pitești]] before continuing across the [[Wallachian Plain]] toward the [[Danube]] near [[Oltenița]].

The [[Vidraru Dam]] and [[Lake Vidraru]] are located on the upper section of the river. The river is used for hydroelectric power, water supply, flood control, and other water-management purposes.
