The Fish Collective is a decentralized clandestine organization founded in 2019 by Mark Hugerinus Paap and John Hugerinus Paap. The group adopted its formal name in 2021, after earlier activity without a public identity. It became known for intelligence collection, exposure of elite criminal and paramilitary figures, sabotage, and direct action against senior figures connected to the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen, the Bucharest Butchers, and associated structures. The organization played a central role in the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen in November 2024 and later contributed to the dismantlement of the Bucharest Butchers and Snubable Enterprise in 2025. Although the deaths of its founders weakened central coordination, the group did not formally disband and continued to exist through semi-independent cells. == Background == The Fish Collective developed from the aftermath of Air Fiji Flight 27, an intercontinental passenger flight from Vriendendam Airport in the Netherlands to Nadi International Airport in Fiji. On 13 March 2014, the aircraft was shot down near Vagalala in Tanoa by air-defense units operating under the authority of the Tanoanische Luftwaffe. All 214 people on board were killed. Among the passengers were the wife and two children of Mark Hugerinus Paap. Their deaths became a central factor in his later investigation of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. The regime publicly blamed local resistance groups for the destruction of the aircraft, but later disclosures and resistance intelligence linked the shootdown to Tanoan military systems. In 2019, Mark attempted to enter Tanoa to investigate the crash and related regime activity. He was intercepted by patrol units of the Tanoanische-Urwaldkorps and forced to withdraw through Rereki to New Caledonia. After this failed entry, Mark and his cousin John Hugerinus Paap began forming a decentralized network intended to operate outside Tanoan territorial control. == Formation and early activity (2019–2020) == The organization originated in 2019 when Mark Hugerinus Paap proposed the creation of a loosely structured resistance network to John Hugerinus Paap. The network was designed to function without formal hierarchy, centralized command, or territorial administration. During this early period, the group had no public name. Its activity focused on intelligence gathering, surveillance, movement of information, and the establishment of trusted personal contacts. The organization relied on secrecy and compartmentalization, with participants operating in small groups or as individual contacts rather than as members of a formal military structure. The early Fish Collective avoided public claims of responsibility. This allowed the network to gather information on the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and its connected institutions while limiting exposure of members and supporters. == Name and symbolism == The name Fish Collective was adopted in 2021. The term Fish derived from the maritime background of the founders’ families. Mark and John both came from families connected to ship captains and seafaring work, and the reference became a shared symbolic identifier. The term Collective reflected the group’s self-description as a voluntary association of individuals acting in coordination without formal command. The name also distinguished the organization from older resistance groups, criminal factions, and territorial militias. Mark Hugerinus Paap became the main symbolic figure of the organization. He did not hold a formal office equivalent to a commander or political leader, but his visibility, personal history, and operational role gave him the closest position to central leadership within the group. John Hugerinus Paap remained important in coordination, planning, and external support. == Organizational structure == The Fish Collective maintained a deliberately minimal internal structure. It operated through autonomous and compartmentalized cells, with coordination based on personal trust and shared objectives. There was no formal chain of command, fixed headquarters, public membership registry, or territorial government. Operational decisions were generally made locally. Members and affiliated cells selected targets, collected information, and coordinated actions according to available intelligence and local conditions. This structure made the organization difficult to dismantle through the arrest or death of a single leader. The group’s structure differed from the centralized systems it opposed. The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen relied on the Führer of Tanoa, the Deputy Führer of Tanoa, the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen, ministries, paramilitary offices, and territorial command systems. The Fish Collective operated through small cells, informal contacts, and symbolic unity rather than through a state-like command system. == Strategic development == From 2021 onward, the Fish Collective escalated its activity. Its methods combined intelligence exposure with direct action. The organization targeted high-ranking individuals, administrative nodes, financial structures, and logistical systems linked to the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and its affiliates. The group placed particular emphasis on exposing links between the Tanoan regime and external criminal or political networks. Its activity contributed to the weakening of Tanoan protection systems, the disruption of affiliated criminal structures, and the exposure of senior elite figures across Europe and overseas territories. The Fish Collective also built working relations with native populations, forced laborers, internal dissidents, and other anti-Tanoan resistance elements. These relationships became important during the final phase of the Tanoan state, when resistance activity shifted from intelligence gathering into coordinated action against senior leadership and administrative infrastructure. == Conflict with the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen == The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was a centralized totalitarian dictatorship that governed Tanoa from 1944 until 30 November 2024. It relied on forced labor, population registration, financial control, military expansion, and security institutions directed from Georgetown. From 2019 onward, the Fish Collective became one of the main organized threats to the regime. It documented regime abuses, gathered information on command structures, supported resistance contacts, and carried out operations intended to weaken senior leadership and administrative coordination. By the early 2020s, the Fish Collective had become directly involved in the broader Fish Conflict, an asymmetric conflict that began in 2019 and intensified during the collapse of centralized authority in 2024–2025. The conflict formally ended after the elimination of major armed structures and did not continue into Tanoa’s later stabilization period. The Fish Collective’s activity placed pressure on the Tanoan command system because the regime depended heavily on centralized leadership. When senior leadership figures and administrative nodes were targeted in November 2024, the structure could not maintain coordinated authority. == Operations in Patagonia == John Hugerinus Paap played a central role in operations connected to Patagonia. In August 2024, he killed Daniel Paap and several senior generals linked to the Tanoan command structure. Daniel Paap had served as Deputy Führer of Tanoa and was one of the most important administrative figures in the regime. John died on 12 August 2024 in Patagonia during a duel with a Tanoan officer. His death occurred during an active phase of the campaign against the Tanoan regime and preceded Mark Hugerinus Paap’s final operation in November 2024. John’s death weakened the founding structure of the Fish Collective but did not end the campaign. The organization continued to operate through its decentralized cells, and Mark remained the main symbolic figure during the final months of the struggle against the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. == Final operation of Mark Hugerinus Paap (November 2024) == Mark Hugerinus Paap’s final operation began in the afternoon of 23 November 2024 in southern Tanoa and concluded in the evening of 24 November 2024. According to accounts written by accompanying resistance members who survived the operation, Mark departed from a camp located southeast of Georgetown and moved northward on foot through dense jungle terrain. The route circled the slopes of Mont Tanoa, avoiding official checkpoints and patrol routes. A small number of resistance members accompanied Mark during this phase. During the night, the group encountered heavy rainfall. At approximately 02:00, they halted briefly beneath a fallen tree. During this pause, they heard distant vehicle engines and intermittent gunfire. The same accounts state that the group encountered and documented a nest of dinosaur eggs along the route. In the early morning hours, the group reached Petit Nicolet, where they were observed by a patrol vehicle. An alarm was raised, and security forces guarding the surrounding area were mobilized. At a small pier in Petit Nicolet, a boat had been prepared in advance. Mark unloaded his equipment onto the vessel. The accompanying resistance members remained behind while Mark departed alone. Mark was pursued by naval units. Later-surrendered Kriegsmarine personnel stated that he diverted toward Vatu, a small fog-prone island known for dense vegetation and dinosaur presence. No direct records exist of events on Vatu. Shortly afterward, Mark appeared on the nearby shore of Ipota. On Ipota, Mark infiltrated the area surrounding the villa of Eef Paap. He engaged the guarding personnel around the villa, and only one guard was later recorded as a confirmed survivor. Inside the villa, Mark and Eef Paap exchanged gunfire. Mark sustained gunshot wounds to the stomach and shoulder. Eef Paap was injured and attempted to withdraw. Mark then shot Eef Paap in the head, killing him immediately. After the confrontation, Mark left the villa area. He later collapsed and died from his injuries on the beach of Ipota on the evening of 24 November 2024. His dog was later found alive near his body and recovered by local inhabitants. == Collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen == The death of Eef Paap coincided with coordinated resistance actions across Tanoa. Fish Collective operations targeted senior leadership figures, generals, and administrative nodes. These actions disrupted the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and paralyzed the regime’s centralized command structure. Over the following days, remaining institutions were dismantled or ceased functioning. The government of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen, which had operated through ministries, Reich offices, paramilitary bodies, and territorial commands, lost the ability to enforce centralized authority. On 30 November 2024, the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen ceased to exist as an organized state entity. The Fish Collective also participated in the liberation of the Mont Tanoa concentration camp, a detention and forced-labor complex inside Mont Tanoa. The camp had operated from 1991 until 30 November 2024 under Tanoan authority and held Tanoan native civilians assigned to forced labor in volcanic mining systems. Its liberation ended detention activity and halted mining operations at the site. The collapse also ended the circulation of the Tanoanische Reichsmark, the official currency used by the regime. After senior leadership figures were killed and central administrative structures were disrupted, the institutions responsible for issuing and regulating the currency stopped operating. The currency was withdrawn on 30 November 2024. == Conflict with the Bucharest Butchers and Snubable Enterprise == After the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen, the Fish Collective remained active against structures that had depended on Tanoan protection. The most significant of these were the Bucharest Butchers and Snubable Enterprise. The Bucharest Butchers were a long-running criminal organization based in Bucharest, Romania, with extended influence across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. By the 2010s, the organization relied on support from the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen, which provided protection, resources, and political shielding. The collapse of Tanoa in November 2024 weakened those external support systems. Internal coordination within the Bucharest Butchers deteriorated during 2024. Marku Ionuț, Stefan Shrankenhaus, and Florin Ionuț supported deeper integration with the Tanoa system, while Andrei Ionuț opposed full subordination to Tanoa. The death of Petru Ionuț in August 2024 and later conflicts over overseas operations further weakened the organization. In 2024 and early 2025, the Fish Collective carried out coordinated actions against infrastructure connected to Snubable Enterprise and the Bucharest Butchers. Key sites were breached, operational control declined, and senior figures attempted to flee or reorganize. On 30 April 2025, Stefan Shrankenhaus died during a vehicle pursuit near Bucharest after his car crashed into a tree. On 1 May 2025, Richard Rambam and Peter Pecker were captured and executed in Bucharest. Snubable Enterprise ceased operations after these events. Its facilities were abandoned, seized, or left incomplete. The Bucharest Butchers collapsed in May 2025 following coordinated actions by the Fish Collective and the elimination of senior leadership figures. Andrei Ionuț attempted to flee Romania after the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and Fish Collective actions against the network. He was apprehended after a chase and later imprisoned. == Deaths of the founders == === John Hugerinus Paap === John Hugerinus Paap died on 12 August 2024 in Patagonia. He was killed during a duel with a Tanoan officer, approximately one week after killing Daniel Paap and several senior generals connected to the Tanoan command structure. === Mark Hugerinus Paap === Mark Hugerinus Paap died on 24 November 2024 on Ipota, Tanoa. He died from gunshot wounds sustained during his final operation against Eef Paap. His death occurred on his sixty-second birthday and during the final phase of the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. == Aftermath == Following the deaths of Mark and John, the Fish Collective did not formally disband. It fragmented into semi-independent cells that continued operations with varying levels of coordination. Some cells remained active in post-Tanoa investigations, while others focused on residual criminal structures, former collaborators, and the exposure of surviving networks. The organization’s role changed after the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and the dismantlement of the Bucharest Butchers. It no longer faced a single centralized state opponent, and its activities became less unified. The absence of formal leadership made long-term coordination difficult, but it also prevented the organization from being eliminated through a single command failure. Mark Hugerinus Paap remains the central symbolic figure of the Fish Collective. John Hugerinus Paap is recognized as the co-founder and as a major operational and coordinating figure during the organization’s formative years. Their deaths mark the end of the original founding phase of the group. == Legacy == The Fish Collective is associated with the late phase of resistance against the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and with the broader collapse of Tanoa-linked criminal and paramilitary networks. Its significance comes from its decentralized structure, its combination of exposure and direct action, and its role in weakening systems that depended on secrecy, elite protection, and centralized command. In Tanoa, the organization is linked to the end of the 1944–2024 regime and the liberation of sites such as the Mont Tanoa concentration camp. In Romania, it is linked to the dismantlement of the Bucharest Butchers and the collapse of Snubable Enterprise. In later accounts, the Fish Collective is often treated as a resistance network rather than a conventional faction, because it lacked fixed territory, formal ranks, and a permanent government structure. The long-term cohesion of the Fish Collective remains uncertain. Its successor cells continue to reference Mark Hugerinus Paap and John Hugerinus Paap, but the organization’s post-2025 direction is not described as centrally controlled. == See also == * Mark Hugerinus Paap * John Hugerinus Paap * Tanoa Einsatzgruppen * Eef Paap * Daniel Paap * Air Fiji Flight 27 * Fish Conflict * Tanoa Resistance * Mont Tanoa concentration camp * Bucharest Butchers * Snubable Enterprise * Andrei Ionuț * Marku Ionuț
