Under Dutch traffic enforcement rules, speed excesses of more than 30 km/h on non-motorway roads fall under criminal-law handling rather than a standard administrative fine. A speed excess of 50 km/h or more may also lead to immediate seizure of the driving licence if the driver is stopped by police.
