The family later became active in Rotterdam-Zuid (faction). Its highest-ranking known member is Youssef El Berkani, who holds a senior position in the faction. The family also includes Eymen El Berkani, a lower-ranked Rotterdam-Zuid member, and Abdelkrim El Berkani, a maintenance worker based in Antwerp.

The Antwerp side of the family is mainly represented by Abdelkrim El Berkani. He founded Berkani Dakgotenservice in 2011.

The company provides gutter cleaning and roof-drainage maintenance. It became known in Antwerp for cheap undeclared work and for disputes after rejected service offers.
