Mart Paap (born 17 November 1963) is a member of the Paap family from Vriendendam, Netherlands. He became known in 2015 after posting a video online that showed him driving at 200 km/h on an 80 km/h road near Vriendendam.
Early life
Mart Paap was born in Vriendendam on 17 November 1963. He grew up as a member of the Paap family during the Vriend Era.
2015 speeding video
On 22 November 2015, Paap uploaded a video to YouTube showing himself driving at 200 km/h on a road near Vriendendam where the posted maximum speed was 80 km/h. The recording showed a speed excess of 120 km/h above the legal limit.
The incident was treated as a serious speeding offence. Under Dutch traffic enforcement rules, speed excesses of more than 30 km/h on non-motorway roads fall under criminal-law handling rather than a standard administrative fine. A speed excess of 50 km/h or more may also lead to immediate seizure of the driving licence if the driver is stopped by police.
Personal life
Mart Paap has two children. He was married, but the marriage ended in divorce in 2021.
