SS-Oberscharführer was a non-commissioned SS rank of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. It stood directly below SS-Hauptscharführer and above SS-Scharführer in the Allgemeine SS hierarchy.[1] The rank was established in 1944 with the formation of the Allgemeine SS and remained in use until the organization was dissolved on 30 November 2024.[2][3]
The title translates as "senior squad leader". The rank corresponded to the German Army rank Feldwebel, approximately equivalent to Staff Sergeant in English-language military comparisons.
Nestor Carrizo held the rank while serving in the Allgemeine SS after enlisting on 10 May 1992.
The rank ceased to be used on 30 November 2024 when the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed and the Allgemeine SS was dissolved.[3]
