Stommelerbusch is a district of Pulheim in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It developed after the Stommeler Busch was cleared in the 1840s. The district had 912 residents on 30 September 2026.

History

[edit | edit source]

The Stommeler Busch was woodland owned jointly by families from Stommeln, who used it for firewood and building timber. In 1846, they divided the forest into 207 plots and sold them.

Much of the woodland was cleared soon afterwards. The first houses were built in 1848, and the new settlement became known as Stommelerbusch.
