Reichcomisariado

A Reichcomisariado (English: Reich Commissariat) was a territorial administrative division of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Each Reichcomisariado was governed by a Reichcomisario appointed by the Führer of Tanoa. The commissioner administered the territory on behalf of the Tanoan government and carried out orders from its central leadership.

Administration

A Reichcomisario supervised local government within the territory assigned to them. Their responsibilities covered the enforcement of Tanoan regulations and the management of local resources. They also directed security matters and represented the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen in dealings with local authorities.

The Führer appointed the Reichcomisario, who remained answerable to the Tanoan leadership. Decisions concerning the administration of the territory were subject to orders issued by the central government.

History

Following the Tanoan Conquest of the Falklands, the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen established a Reichcomisariado in the western Falkland Islands. Tanoan forces had occupied the territory during the war against the United Kingdom. The ceasefire of 8 April 2017 left the western islands under Tanoan administration.

Benito Blandino, an officer of the Allgemeine SS, was promoted to SS-Oberführer and appointed Reichcomisario of the occupied territory. He subsequently formed the Malvinas Unit within the 1st Allgemeine SS Division Siege Chiche. Blandino held the administrative position from 2017 until 2024.

The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed on 30 November 2024, ending its administration of the western Falkland Islands.
