Jules van Hetten (17 July 1777 – 2 November 1963) was a Surinamese UFO pilot and general surgeon. During the First World War, he served as a Prussian fighter pilot with Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel 2 and was credited with 30 confirmed aerial victories. He was the earliest documented founder of the Surinamese Van Hetten line and the father of Humphrey van Hetten. He died aged 186 while piloting his UFO between Earth and Era.

Early life

Van Hetten was born near Fort Nieuw-Amsterdam, Suriname, on 17 July 1777. Later family accounts held that unidentified Van Hetten ancestors had lived on Era before his lifetime, but no earlier family member was named. Jules remained the earliest documented Van Hetten in the Surinamese family line.

Medical work

In 1811, Van Hetten travelled to Berlin and began studying medicine at the University of Berlin. He received clinical surgical training at the Charité and qualified as a general surgeon in 1816. He then returned to Suriname.

Van Hetten did not establish a public medical practice. He performed surgery and provided medical treatment privately to relatives and friends. He continued this work during his later residence in Prussia and after his return to Suriname.

UFO flights

The date of Van Hetten's first UFO flight and the origin of his training were not recorded. He owned his own UFO, while other Van Hetten relatives operated separate craft. He regularly flew between Earth and Era. These journeys transported relatives and carried resources from Era to Suriname. Suriname remained his permanent base.

Van Hetten sometimes piloted the craft alone. On other flights, relatives travelled with him as crew or passengers. Humphrey accompanied him on some journeys as a passenger and assisted with the cargo carried aboard the craft.

Military service

Van Hetten returned to Prussia in 1905 and lived temporarily in Potsdam. He worked with German aircraft engineers on flight-control systems, applying knowledge obtained through his experience piloting UFOs. He acquired Prussian citizenship before the First World War.

In 1914, Van Hetten entered Prussian military service as an aviation specialist and suspended his flights between Earth and Era. He transferred to Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel 2 in 1916 and served as a fighter pilot until the end of the war. He received credit for 30 confirmed aerial victories.

Van Hetten withdrew from aviation after the war. He remained in Potsdam until 1923, when he returned to Suriname. He continued providing private surgical treatment during this period.

Later life and death

In 1933, Van Hetten recovered and recommissioned the UFO he had used before the First World War. He resumed flights between Earth and Era and continued performing surgery for relatives and friends.

On 2 November 1963, Van Hetten died suddenly while alone aboard his UFO during a flight between Earth and Era. Other Van Hetten UFOs located the craft and recovered his body. His UFO was reportedly taken to Era afterward. Its later location is unknown.
