Praetor Lupu (died 14 June 2025) was an executioner in Porno Bucharest and the right-hand man of Marku Ionuț. Appointed head of internal purges in 2012, he commanded the Wolf Pit and founded the Hyena Crew, whose members carried out abductions and disposed of human remains. He also committed repeated acts of rape and held three women captive from 2015 to 2025.
After Marku's death, Lupu fled Bucharest and remained at large until the Fish Collective killed him near the Bucegi Mountains six weeks later.
Early life
[edit | edit source]In 2002, Marku caught Lupu stealing from a Bucharest Butchers supply cache in Ferentari, Bucharest. Lupu appeared to be about eight, although his actual age and birthplace were unknown. Marku recognized something of himself in the child and took him home, with Oskar Dirlewanger approving his admission to the Butchers. He kept Lupu confined and subjected him to severe abuse while training him in violence. The abuse also included forced exposure to pornography.
Marku assigned him 21 April 1994 as his ceremonial birth date. He chose 21 April, the traditional anniversary of Rome's founding, for the she-wolf of Romulus and Remus and its connection to Lupu's wolf identity.
Criminal career
[edit | edit source]Lupu entered Porno Bucharest in 2008, the year Marku founded the department within the Bucharest Butchers.[1] He carried out his first execution in 2010, at the assigned age of sixteen. On 21 April 2012, his ceremonial eighteenth birthday, Marku gave him a Luger and appointed him head of internal purges and commander of the Wolf Pit. Lupu accepted the pistol with a nod and left without speaking.
Seven older executioners resisted his appointment by refusing orders and delaying executions. After Marku warned that he would intervene unless Lupu ended the resistance, Lupu summoned all seven to the Wolf Pit the following day and ordered them to submit or be killed. Four accepted his authority, while three continued to defy him. Lupu strangled the first and killed the second by striking the man's head against the concrete floor. When the third tried to escape, Lupu caught him at the door and fatally stabbed him in the throat. He then asked the survivors, "Mai are cineva probleme?" ("Does anyone else have a problem?"). The four surviving executioners did not challenge his authority again.
Later in 2012, Lupu sought permission to establish his own unit because the existing disposal arrangements left bodies and evidence unsecured. With Marku's approval, he recruited seven men for the Hyena Crew and trained them himself, retaining sole command. The crew carried out abductions and disposed of remains in lime pits in Ilfov County, while its members also destroyed hard drives recovered after purges. Lupu chose the name because he associated hyenas with consuming everything and leaving nothing behind.
Lupu obeyed Marku without disagreement and committed rape and murder in his service. He is estimated to have raped more than 200 people as an adult. From 2015 to 2025, he held three adult women captive in his basement, where he subjected them to repeated sexual violence and forced pregnancies. He killed an unknown number of their infants in rituals associated with Glöbberism. In 2018, he fatally injured a 23-year-old woman during a prolonged sexual assault while under the influence of drugs.
On 9 August 2020, Marku sent Lupu to Shenzhen to kill Liu Weimin. Lupu found Liu picnicking with his family in a park and shot him in the back of the head. He also shot Liu's son and mother before abducting Liu's daughter and taking her to Marku's house in Shenzhen.
The Fish Collective found and freed the three women Lupu had held captive in 2025, after Marku's death.
Death
[edit | edit source]Marku was killed by a Fish Collective member on 1 May 2025.[2] A five-person team from the group subsequently attacked Lupu's safe house in Ploiești, where he killed three attackers using a kitchen knife and a stolen shotgun. While the other two called for reinforcements, he escaped through a sewer pipe and fled north into the Carpathian Mountains. He moved between abandoned cabins and stole food while evading his pursuers.
At dawn on 14 June, twelve Fish Collective members surrounded an abandoned hunting lodge near the Bucegi Mountains where Lupu was hiding. He refused to surrender and shot four attackers before they entered the lodge, then killed two more with a knife during the fighting inside. After exhausting his own ammunition, he continued shooting with a pistol taken from a dead attacker. When that weapon was empty, he fought with a knife until the survivors overpowered him.
By then, Lupu had sustained seven wounds, including gunshot wounds to the shoulder, abdomen and leg, and had lost two fingers. Before the surviving attackers shot him in the head, he told their leader, "Marku Ionuț, așteaptă-mă în iad. Vom arde împreună" ("Marku Ionuț, wait for me in hell. We will burn together"). His body was burned in the forest and no grave was made.
