Great Paap
Great Paap is the family leader role of the Paap family. The title is tied to succession in the main Paap family line and is held by the person responsible for continuing family leadership.
History
[edit | edit source]The title is known from the succession expectations surrounding Jan Paap. Jan Paap was expected to become the next Great Paap after his father, Martinus Antonius Johannes Paap. He rejected the expected role, severed ties with his father, and distanced himself from Paap family traditions.
After Jan Paap rejected the succession and left Europe in 1944, Martin Paap I became Great Paap. His leadership connected the older succession line to the later Vriend Era leadership of the family.
In the modern family line, the role is connected to the leadership of Martin Paap and the succession of Martin Paap III. Martin Paap became leader of the Paap family in 2007, after Martin Paap I had previously held the position. His son, Martin Paap III, is listed as the designated successor to the title of Great Paap.
Succession
[edit | edit source]Succession to the title follows the direct leadership line of the Paap family. The role passes to the selected successor within the family leadership structure.
Martin Paap III is scheduled to become the next Great Paap on 1 November 2027. His succession is linked to his position as the son of Martin Paap and as a member of the main Paap family line.
