The Tanoan Conquest of the Falklands, also called the Second Falkland War, was fought between the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and the United Kingdom from 2014 until 8 April 2017. Tanoan forces invaded the Falkland Islands and occupied their western portion. A ceasefire ended the fighting, with the occupied territory placed under a Tanoan Reichcomisariado administered by Benito Blandino.
Background
[edit | edit source]Tensions between the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and the United Kingdom over the Falkland Islands increased in 2013.[1] Eef Paap, the Tanoan Führer, instructed Chiche Alem to give a public speech urging people to arm themselves in preparation for war. Tanoan commanders also agreed to invade the islands. The surprise invasion began the following year.
Invasion and occupation
[edit | edit source]The invasion began with an assault by eight Allgemeine SS divisions and four Waffen SS divisions. Their orders were to break through the British defences and secure landing areas for the next wave. The Kriegsmarine fired naval artillery to support the troops coming ashore. Once the first wave had established its positions, another two SS divisions and ten Wehrmacht divisions landed. Tanoan forces occupied the western part of the islands.[1]
British forces tried to recover the occupied territory but met entrenched Tanoan positions. Both sides suffered casualties as the fighting continued into 2017.
Alleged executions of prisoners
[edit | edit source]Reports from the occupation accused SS-Sturmbannführer Benito Blandino and troops under his command of mistreating and summarily executing British prisoners of war. The reported death toll was approximately 50. Some of the alleged killings took place near Port Stephens and at military outposts on western West Falkland. The precise death toll and locations remained disputed. Blandino reportedly received an award towards the end of the war despite the accusations against him.
Ceasefire and aftermath
[edit | edit source]On 8 April 2017, negotiations between the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and the United Kingdom produced a ceasefire. The agreement left the western Falkland Islands under Tanoan administration as a Reichcomisariado. Blandino was appointed Reichcomisario of the territory. The war also encouraged recruitment to the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen among supporters in Argentina.[2]
After the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed in November 2024, released documents exposed secret contacts between Tanoan officials and senior British figures. British reinforcements had been delayed under covert agreements that also restricted military escalation and concealed intelligence failures. During the war, the British public was told that the government was handling a conventional overseas conflict. Some officials had already accepted Tanoan restrictions before the ceasefire negotiations ended.[3]
