Early life
Martin Gerard Noord was born on 11 April 1956 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He was born into the Noord family during the early postwar period, when the family name had become increasingly standardized as Noord in Dutch records and family usage.
He was raised within the Rotterdam branch of the family. His father was Angelo van Noord, and his siblings included Angelo Noord, Evert Angedrik Noord, and Angela Noord. Through this family position, Martin Noord remained connected to the wider Noord family structure, although his own life was centered more on local work and household life than public family leadership.
