Jibbut Snagov (born Jibbut Ryabov; 17 March 1974 – 28 December 2024) was a Russian-born Romanian mass murderer and security chief at Snubable Enterprise. He was a member of the Bucharest Butchers, which forced him into full-time service at Snubable in 2007.

Snagov funded the early cloning work of Richard Rambam and Peter Pecker in 1999. After his transfer to Snubable, he headed its security services and later took control of clone extermination. His chemical work produced Electric Cyanide in 2009. On 9 June 2014, he carried out the Hotel Rogganoid bombing under Rambam's orders, killing 47 people.

Early life

Jibbut Snagov was born Jibbut Ryabov in Nikolayevo-Darino, Kursk Oblast, Russia, on 17 March 1974. His family moved to Snagov, Romania, in late 1989, when he was 15 years old, and later adopted the surname Snagov. His father, Sergei Ryabov, became known as Sergiu Snagov and worked as a postman after settling in Romania.

After the move, Snagov developed an interest in nuclear physics, particularly gases and liquids. In 1992, he saw members of the Bucharest Butchers shake down a man near Piața Obor in Bucharest before leaving in an expensive car. The incident drew him toward the organization.

Criminal career

In 1993, Sergiu Snagov was fired from his postal job after his documents were checked, leaving the family facing removal from Romania. Jibbut began stealing goods to sell on the street. On 4 August, he stole cigarette cartons and car radios from a storage room near Șoseaua Colentina. The goods belonged to Doru Tudor, a Bucharest Butchers runner and nephew of Mihail Tudor, who brought Snagov to his uncle on 11 August. Mihail told Snagov that he would have to work for the Bucharest Butchers if he wanted his family to remain in Romania. He used his contacts to stop the removal case and had the family's papers fixed under the surname Snagov. Jibbut joined the organization in September 1993.

Doru placed him on collection work around Piața Obor and Colentina in 1994. By 1995, Snagov was working on loads moving through the DN1 corridor between Băneasa and Otopeni. His knowledge of gases and liquids proved useful to Mihail Tudor, who placed him in charge of technical stock for the northern Bucharest Butchers on 17 May 1996. Snagov became Tudor's senior lieutenant for the northern route on 3 July 1998.

In February 1999, Snagov began financing Richard Rambam and Peter Pecker in exchange for cloned pigs. His payments allowed them to improve their equipment and establish a permanent laboratory. Snagov also introduced Rambam to Alexandru Ionuț, who supplied the biological material used for the first human cloning attempts and later became the genetic source of the A-Series. Rambam and Pecker's work developed into Snubable Enterprise, which they formally founded later that year.

Snubable Enterprise

The Bucharest Butchers took direct organizational control of Snubable Enterprise in 2007. On 7 April, Oskar Dirlewanger approved Butchers control over the company's protection and transport structure. Snubable secured its main factory property at Căciulați on 18 August. After the property had been obtained, Dirlewanger ordered Snagov transferred from the northern Bucharest Butchers route into Snubable full time. Mihail Tudor delivered the order.

Snagov refused, saying that his position in the Bucharest Butchers was above being used as a "security tool" for Snubable Enterprise. Tudor threatened to have his family killed if he continued to refuse. Snagov accepted the transfer but told Tudor that he still regarded himself as a Butchers member. He initially became head of security services. Later in 2007, Rambam asked him to take charge of clone extermination after observing his work in the security structure.

Snagov regarded the assignment as humiliating and resented being required to work for the company. Dirlewanger repeatedly told him to undergo the Glöbberist initiation ritual, which Snagov also regarded as humiliating. He refused each time and never became a Glöbberist. In 2008, Rambam noticed how quickly Snagov understood technical material and ordered an internal intelligence test. The recorded result placed his IQ above 200.

Rambam subsequently expanded Snagov's work into chemical development. At first, he could develop only substances specifically authorized by Rambam, but later in 2008 he received greater freedom to experiment after producing useful results. Although Snagov disliked the purposes for which the company used his work, he enjoyed the chemical research itself because of his longstanding interest in the subject. In 2009, he developed the first internal version of Electric Cyanide, which Snubable used for clone termination and biological disposal.

From 2008 to 2012, Kaspar Othmar Barmettler served under Snagov in the unit responsible for killing rejected clones. Snagov disliked Barmettler, whom he regarded as someone who enjoyed killing rejected clones. Rambam took more direct control over the killings in 2012 and moved Barmettler onto his personal staff. Snagov was relieved by Barmettler's removal and by the reduction in some of his own direct extermination work.

On 6 November 2010, Snagov was patrolling the perimeter of the main Snubable property with another security member when two girls, approximately seven to ten years old, entered through a damaged section of fencing. The other guard stated that he intended to sexually exploit the children. Snagov told the girls to turn around, walk away and not look back. When the guard objected, Snagov stabbed him repeatedly. He then caught up with the girls farther from the facility, warned them never to return or disclose the property's location, and allowed them to leave.

Snagov returned to the wounded guard and shot him twice, killing him. The gunfire brought a 20-year-old rookie security member to the scene, whom Snagov ordered to help dispose of the body. Afterward, he gave the younger man approximately 76,300 lei, around US$25,000 at the time, from his own money and told him to leave Snubable and start elsewhere. The security member subsequently left the organization.

By 2013, Snagov's depression had become noticeable to other Snubable personnel. He grew increasingly irritable with employees who treated clone extermination casually and frequently remained alone in the chemical-development areas for long periods. He began missing meals and smoking heavily. Rambam noticed the change but did not intervene while Snagov continued completing his work. By early 2014, Snagov had also become careless about his own safety and sometimes handled dangerous chemicals without the protective equipment required by Snubable procedures. Rambam again took no action.

Hotel Rogganoid bombing

On 13 May 2011, Rasmus Rogganoid paid Snubable Enterprise €4.8 million for the creation of the R-Series. Snagov opposed the contract because he considered placing Snubable-made clones with an outside private customer an unnecessary security risk. When the contract proceeded, he imposed secrecy conditions on Rogganoid. He was prohibited from identifying Snubable Enterprise as the source of the clones, while publicity involving the R-Series required company approval.

Production of the R-Series began on 3 September 2011, and the clones were later placed at Hotel Rogganoid. Rogganoid knowingly broke the security conditions on 4 March 2014 when he began advertising them as part of the resort. After Rambam learned of the breach, he ordered Snagov to destroy the hotel. Rambam told him that refusal would result in his return to the Bucharest Butchers and threatened to have his family killed. Snagov's depression had by then progressed to severe hopelessness, and he complied without arguing against the order.

On 9 June 2014, Snagov entered Hotel Rogganoid in Băneasa, Bucharest, and placed hidden explosive charges through the service area. The initial blast damaged the lower service section, after which fire and structural failure spread through the resort. The attack destroyed the hotel and killed 47 people. Most of the dead were R-Series clones or members of the Rogganoid family. No more than five were unrelated human guests or employees, and Rasmus Rogganoid was among those killed. Romanian police publicly described the destruction as a gas explosion on 10 June.

Immediately after the bombing, Snagov showed little outward reaction and remained emotionally numb. His depression worsened during the following weeks as he reflected on having carried out the attack without resisting Rambam's order. He smoked more heavily, spent increasing amounts of time alone in the chemical areas and continued disregarding chemical safety precautions. By mid-2015, he was experiencing recurring suicidal thoughts, although he had not formed an active suicide plan. He continued carrying out every clone extermination required of him and did not allow rejected clones to escape.

Later years

Snagov took part in Aktion Shrankenhaus in 2017, working on internal security before the deployment associated with the 2017 Slatina massacre. The following year, Marku Ionuț ordered him to help organize security for Porno Bucharest hangars and hideouts. Snagov personally visited the sites and inspected their security arrangements, but avoided them whenever possible because he was repulsed by the abuse of women by Marku's personnel. Marku noticed his contempt for the organization and confronted him over his attitude.

On 14 March 2019, Rambam formally reduced Snagov's routine patrol and guard-supervision duties. More of his regular work shifted to chemical development and security planning, although he remained responsible for clone extermination when required. On 12 October 2021, Rambam ordered him to design the security architecture for the first planning memorandum of California 2040. Snagov based the design on security systems used at Snubable's Romanian facilities but did not personally support the project. When a revised California 2040 paper circulated on 14 January 2024, he again completed the required security work under Rambam's orders.

On 17 February 2024, Snagov was ordered to escort Marku to a Porno Bucharest property in northern Romania. Members of the organization had abducted and confined 17-year-old Milena Zaretskaya there for Marku to sexually exploit. While Snagov was in a bathroom, Milena's Russian mother, Yelena Zaretskaya, reached the property carrying a Mosin–Nagant rifle. Zaretskaya shot Marku in the leg and escaped with her daughter. Snagov heard the shot and came out as the two were leaving. He recognized them, nodded to them and deliberately allowed them to leave before going to check on Marku.

Marku suspected that Snagov had allowed Yelena and Milena to escape but did not confront him directly. On 12 March, he discussed Snagov with Rambam and argued that he had become a liability who should be killed. Rambam refused because he still needed Snagov's chemical expertise and security knowledge. Snagov was never told about the discussion, although he was excluded from senior meetings afterward. When he was refused entry to a meeting he would normally have attended on 18 March, he realized that the exclusion was deliberate.

On 24 June, Snagov began preparing a gas attack against the Snubable leadership. He intended to place Richard Rambam and Peter Pecker in one section of the main building with Marku Ionuț and Florin Ionuț, then release gas into the area. The plan followed months of resentment toward the leadership while his depression continued to worsen. Snagov abandoned it on 30 June because he feared that the preparations would be discovered and that Marku or Rambam would have him tortured before killing him. His depression had also deteriorated to the point that he no longer had the motivation to carry the attack through. He kept the papers relating to the plan.

From 5 September 2024, Snagov largely stopped performing routine security work. He continued to respond when directly ordered to handle essential tasks and still carried out required clone exterminations, but otherwise withdrew from Snubable operations. On 23 December, he carried out his final clone extermination, went home and stopped reporting to Snubable Enterprise.

Medical research

Between 2020 and 2023, while working in chemical development at Snubable Enterprise, Snagov privately developed three curative treatments. His HIV treatment completely eliminated the infection during testing. He later produced a cure for pancreatic cancer, followed by a separate treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Snagov tested the treatments on genetically engineered clones designed to reproduce each disease. The trials showed complete recovery after treatment, and he retained detailed records of the results. Once the research was finished, Snagov kept the formulas and laboratory notes at his house in Snagov, together with sealed prepared doses of each treatment. He intended to release the cures for medical use but repeatedly postponed doing so because he feared that the attention generated by the research would expose his activities at Snubable. He nevertheless preserved the completed work and did not destroy it before his death.

When investigators searched Snagov's house after finding his body on 6 May 2025, they discovered the medical research with his other papers. His notes identified the treatments as completed cures and described the clone trials used to test them. The formulas and records were sent to multiple laboratories for independent examination, together with the prepared doses. Each treatment produced the results described in Snagov's records when independently reproduced. The three cures were released for medical use later in 2025.

Personal life

Snagov never married and had no children. In 1995, he began a relationship with a woman whose name has not been recorded. They remained together until 1999, when she was killed in a car crash. Snagov was 25 at the time. He later entered another relationship that lasted approximately three years. In 2006, he discovered that his girlfriend had been unfaithful to him and ended the relationship. He did not establish another long-term relationship afterward.

In 2023, Snagov saw his former girlfriend inside a restaurant with her husband and child. He stood outside alone in the rain and watched them through the window for a short time without approaching her. She did not notice him. After returning home, Snagov wrote about the encounter and how seeing his former girlfriend with her family had reminded him of the woman he lost in 1999. He considered the life he believed he might have had if his first girlfriend had survived and compared it with his circumstances in 2023. He also wrote about the end of his later relationship and blamed his own decisions for leaving him isolated.

Snagov became increasingly isolated outside work during his later years. Notes recovered from his house after his death stated that he could no longer cope with the person he believed he had become.

Death

On 28 December 2024, five days after his final clone extermination, Snagov sealed himself inside the living room of his house in Snagov and killed himself by cyanide gas exposure. His decomposing body was found on 6 May 2025, after the collapse of Snubable Enterprise and the Bucharest Butchers. Investigators also recovered the papers relating to his abandoned June 2024 gas-attack plan.

On 22 May 2025, Yelena and Milena Zaretskaya testified before the Bucharest Tribunal about their February 2024 escape. Both identified Snagov as the armed man they had encountered while leaving the Porno Bucharest property. Yelena stated that he had deliberately lowered his weapon and allowed them to leave, which Milena confirmed in her own testimony.
