Paul Kristian Norggohole (born 14 February 1983) is a Norwegian developmental cell biologist and convicted criminal who served as Head of Developmental Cell Biology at Snubable Enterprise from 2011 until May 2025. At Snubable, he directed cellular reprogramming and developmental screening for its clone programme and knowingly participated in Aktion Shrankenhaus in 2017. After fleeing to Norway during Snubable's collapse, he was captured in June 2025 and later convicted by the Bucharest Tribunal of crimes against humanity and illegal human experimentation. The tribunal also convicted him of participation in an organized criminal group and sentenced him to life imprisonment at Rahova Prison.

Norggohole was born in Harstad, Norway, on 14 February 1983 and remained there through secondary school. He became interested in human development and congenital disorders before concentrating on the cellular processes that control differentiation. At nineteen, he was arrested after leaving a shop with an item he had not paid for. Norggohole said that he had not noticed he was carrying it, and the case was dropped when deliberate theft could not be established.

While finishing his doctorate in 2010, Norggohole attended a biotechnology event in Switzerland through an NTNU industry contact. At a later scientific and industrial reception linked to the World Economic Order, Stefan Shrankenhaus questioned him about reprogramming differentiated cells and maintaining stable cell lines. Shrankenhaus arranged a highly paid consultancy assignment in Romania through a WEO-linked company, but the offer did not identify Snubable Enterprise. Norggohole travelled to Romania expecting a short biotechnology assignment. At Snubable's main complex in Căciulați, he was shown abnormal cell cultures and restricted production areas before learning that the facility manufactured human clones. He accepted permanent employment soon afterward. Richard Rambam separately paid him €1 million to keep Snubable's work secret, and on 1 October 2010 Norggohole joined as a senior cellular-reprogramming researcher reporting directly to Rambam.

Stefan Shrankenhaus questioned him there about reprogramming differentiated cells and maintaining stable cell lines. Shrankenhaus subsequently arranged a highly paid consultancy assignment in Romania through a WEO-linked company. The offer did not identify Snubable Enterprise before Norggohole travelled to Romania.
Soon after joining Snubable, Norggohole separated preserved master stocks from the working cultures used for clone manufacture. He tightened culture-history controls around that separation, with contamination screening before reprogrammed material entered production. Gene-expression screening was added to the same process. Snubable began routine whole-transcriptome monitoring for ischemic stress in 2011. Norggohole designed the screening used to compare developing material with established A-Series reference patterns. Rambam appointed him Head of Developmental Cell Biology on 15 March 2011. Staff later called him "Professor Norggohole" inside Snubable, although he did not hold a university professorship. His department handled reprogramming before production and maintained the master cell banks, while Sorin Spitt examined clones after incubation and handled pathology and medical assessment.

Richard Rambam paid him €1 million in a separate confidentiality payment tied to keeping Snubable's work secret. Norggohole joined the organization on 1 October 2010 as a senior cellular-reprogramming researcher reporting directly to Rambam.

During 2011, he reorganized Snubable's master-cell-bank system. Preserved master stocks were separated from working cultures used for production. Norggohole also tightened culture-history controls and introduced screening for contamination before reprogrammed material entered production.

Snubable personnel subsequently used the title "Professor Norggohole" for him internally. He did not hold a university professorship.

His department handled reprogramming before production and maintained the master cell banks used by the cloning programme. Sorin Spitt, who headed Clone Medicine, examined clones after incubation and handled pathology and medical assessment.

The R-Series entered development in 2011 using Rasmus Rogganoid as its genetic source. Norggohole opposed routine production because he believed there was insufficient evidence that Rogganoid-derived cells would remain stable under accelerated maturation. He warned Rambam in writing that the line was not ready for routine use. Rambam ordered production to continue. Norggohole then concentrated on screening the batches and rejecting those with the most severe developmental instability.

Later in 2011, an unstable clone attacked Norggohole during an examination. Security personnel initially failed to restrain it. Norggohole took a nearby steel fire extinguisher and struck the clone repeatedly until it stopped moving. Jibbut Snagov arrived with security personnel and shot the clone in the head to ensure that it was dead. The body was taken for the post-mortem examination required by Spitt before disposal. After the incident, Norggohole stopped objecting to the routine termination of failed clones and treated it as part of production control.

In 2013, Norggohole tightened a developmental screening threshold too far. Approximately 150 to 200 viable clones were classified as failures and terminated before the error was identified. Rambam ordered him to recalibrate the screening system but did not remove him as department head.

During a culture-contamination incident in 2014, Norggohole remained in the affected laboratory for almost a full day while staff isolated threatened cell banks. He refused to leave until the master stocks were secured and later collapsed from exhaustion. Spitt treated him with fluids and kept him under observation in the medical section.

From 2015, Norggohole screened Tanoan-supplied culture media and other laboratory materials before they were used in Snubable research.

In 2017, Norggohole knowingly participated in Aktion Shrankenhaus. He used developmental records to identify clones that were most likely to withstand the physical demands of combat. Spitt performed the medical screening before deployment. Norggohole knew that the clones were being sent to Slatina and that civilians would be killed.

Norggohole travelled to the staging site outside Slatina and remained there during the attack. He monitored the condition of deployed clones and helped decide which reserve units were stable enough to be sent into the city as losses increased. The deployment resulted in the Slatina massacre, in which an estimated 34,000 to 40,000 people were killed. After returning from the operation, Norggohole drank heavily for several days before resuming work at Căciulați.

In 2020, Rambam developed a severe toothache and asked Norggohole to arrange dental treatment. Norggohole contacted his cousin, Ben Norggohole, who was working as a dentist in Tromsø. He told Ben that a wealthy Romanian employer required urgent treatment but did not tell him about Snubable or its cloning programme.

Paul collected Ben in Bucharest and drove him to Căciulați. Ben confronted him after discovering the nature of the facility. Paul apologized for deceiving him but maintained that Ben probably would not have travelled to Romania if he had known about Snubable beforehand. After Ben treated Rambam, Rambam offered him €30,000 to remain in Romania as Snubable's dentist. Paul encouraged him to accept the offer. During the following years, Paul regularly visited Ben at his Bucharest home and warned him away from parts of Snubable where he believed Ben could be endangered.
In 2013, Norggohole set a developmental threshold too tightly, causing approximately 150 to 200 viable clones to be classified as failures and terminated before the mistake was found. Rambam ordered him to recalibrate the screening system but left him in charge of the department. A culture-contamination incident the following year kept Norggohole in the affected laboratory for almost a full day while staff isolated threatened cell banks. He refused to leave until the master stocks were secured, then collapsed from exhaustion. Spitt treated him with fluids and kept him under observation in the medical section. From 2015, Norggohole also screened Tanoan-supplied culture media and laboratory material before it entered Snubable research.

Norggohole became heavily involved in Project Umbrar after the Borvă specimen UB-01 was brought to Snubable in 2021. He worked on the developmental combination of human and Borvă biological material, while Spitt directed the medical assessment of the resulting bodies. Norggohole concluded that the repeated failures resulted primarily from incomplete cellular reprogramming. The two biological sources could begin development together, but their cellular programmes did not reset cleanly enough to produce a stable organism.

Repeated failures caused increasing conflict inside his laboratory. During one failed run, Norggohole shouted at staff for repeating procedures incorrectly and swept an instrument tray onto the floor before ordering the work restarted. Rambam did not discipline him and told the laboratory personnel to continue working under him. Snubable ended Project Umbrar on 3 November 2022.

By 2023, Norggohole was regularly using cocaine during periods of long laboratory work. He also drank alcohol. By 2024, his cocaine use had developed into a binge pattern. He could go several days without using it before taking large amounts during periods of work-related stress.

Rambam began the B-Series stabilization project in 2023 using archived early A-Series stock. Norggohole rebuilt the cell banks and screened the resulting material. He also monitored developmental stability during maturation. By 2024, he believed that the archived stock had corrected some earlier defects but remained concerned about incomplete microvascular maturation. He warned Rambam several times that the programme was progressing faster than the biology supported. Rambam refused to slow the project. The B-Series did not enter industrial production before Snubable collapsed.

Norggohole cooperated extensively after his transfer to Bucharest. He admitted his own role and explained how Snubable's scientific departments worked. Investigators then used his knowledge to interpret laboratory records recovered from Căciulați and identify surviving personnel. During the proceedings, he did not substantially dispute the factual allegations against him. Norggohole acknowledged his position under Rambam and his work in Snubable's reprogramming programme. He also admitted his work on Project Umbrar and his knowing participation in Aktion Shrankenhaus.

Paul Kristian Norggohole (born 14 February 1983) is a Norwegian developmental cell biologist and convicted criminal who served as Head of Developmental Cell Biology at Snubable Enterprise from 2011 until May 2025. He directed cellular reprogramming and developmental screening for the organization's clone programme. In 2017, he knowingly took part in Aktion Shrankenhaus. After Snubable collapsed in 2025, Norggohole fled to Norway, where he was captured in June. The Bucharest Tribunal later convicted him of crimes against humanity and illegal human experimentation, with a further conviction for participation in an organized criminal group. He was sentenced to life imprisonment at Rahova Prison.

Early life and education

Norggohole was born in Harstad, Norway, on 14 February 1983 and remained there through secondary school. He became interested in human development and congenital disorders before concentrating on the cellular processes that control differentiation. At nineteen, he was arrested after leaving a shop with an item he had not paid for. Norggohole said that he had not noticed he was carrying it, and the case was dropped when deliberate theft could not be established.

In 2002, he moved to Trondheim for a five-year chemistry and biotechnology programme at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He completed the programme in 2007, then stayed at the university for doctoral research in biotechnology. His work examined epigenetic reprogramming of somatic cells during early mammalian development, with particular attention to incomplete nuclear resetting after somatic cell nuclear transfer. He completed his doctorate in 2010.

Snubable Enterprise

Soon after joining Snubable, Norggohole separated preserved master stocks from the working cultures used for clone manufacture. He tightened culture-history controls around that separation, with contamination screening before reprogrammed material entered production. Gene-expression screening was added to the same process. Snubable began routine whole-transcriptome monitoring for ischemic stress in 2011.[1] Norggohole designed the screening used to compare developing material with established A-Series reference patterns.

The R-Series entered development in 2011 using Rasmus Rogganoid as its genetic source.[2] Norggohole opposed routine production because he believed there was not enough evidence that Rogganoid-derived cells would remain stable under accelerated maturation. He warned Rambam in writing that the line was not ready. Rambam ordered production to continue, leaving Norggohole to screen the batches and reject those showing the most severe developmental instability. Later that year, an unstable clone attacked him during an examination and security personnel failed to restrain it. Norggohole took a steel fire extinguisher from nearby and struck the clone repeatedly until it stopped moving. Jibbut Snagov arrived with security personnel and shot it in the head before the body was sent for the post-mortem examination required by Spitt. Norggohole stopped objecting to the routine termination of failed clones after the attack and treated it as part of production control.

Norggohole knowingly participated in Aktion Shrankenhaus in 2017. He used developmental records to identify clones he believed were most likely to withstand combat, while Spitt performed the medical screening before deployment. Norggohole knew they were being sent to Slatina and that civilians would be killed. He travelled to the staging site outside the city and remained there during the attack, where he monitored the condition of deployed clones. As losses increased, he helped decide which reserve units were stable enough to be sent into Slatina. The deployment caused the 2017 Slatina massacre, in which an estimated 34,000 to 40,000 people were killed.[3] Norggohole drank heavily for several days after returning to Căciulați before he resumed work.

In 2020, Rambam developed a severe toothache and asked Norggohole to arrange treatment. Norggohole contacted his cousin Ben Norggohole, then a dentist in Tromsø, and told him that a wealthy Romanian employer needed urgent dental care. He did not tell Ben about Snubable or its cloning programme. Paul collected him in Bucharest and drove him to Căciulați, where Ben discovered what the facility was and confronted him. Paul apologized for deceiving him but maintained that Ben probably would not have travelled to Romania if he had been told beforehand. After Ben treated Rambam, Rambam offered him €30,000 to remain in Romania as Snubable's dentist.[4] Paul encouraged him to accept. Paul visited Ben regularly at his Bucharest home in the years that followed.[4] He warned Ben away from parts of Snubable where he believed he could be endangered.

The arrival of the Borvă specimen UB-01 in 2021 brought Norggohole into Project Umbrar.[5] He worked on combining human and Borvă biological material during development, while Spitt directed medical assessment of the resulting bodies. Norggohole concluded that incomplete cellular reprogramming was the main reason the experiments failed. Development could begin from both biological sources, but their cellular programmes did not reset cleanly enough to produce a stable organism. The repeated failures also affected his conduct in the laboratory. During one failed run, he shouted at staff for repeating procedures incorrectly and swept an instrument tray onto the floor. He then ordered the work restarted. Rambam did not discipline him. Project Umbrar ended on 3 November 2022.[5]

By 2023, Norggohole was regularly using cocaine during long periods of laboratory work and was also drinking alcohol. His cocaine use had developed into a binge pattern by 2024, with periods of several days without use followed by large amounts during work-related stress. At the same time, Rambam had begun the B-Series stabilization project using archived early A-Series stock. Norggohole rebuilt the cell banks from the archived stock. He screened the resulting material as it matured, concentrating on developmental stability. By 2024, he believed the archived stock had corrected some earlier defects, but incomplete microvascular maturation remained. He repeatedly warned Rambam that the programme was moving faster than the biology supported. Rambam refused to slow it, and the B-Series never entered industrial production before Snubable collapsed.[1]

Escape and capture

Richard Rambam was captured and executed on 1 May 2025 while Snubable personnel still held the Căciulați complex.[6] Norggohole stayed at the facility after Rambam's death and concentrated on preserving laboratory work and B-Series material. Fighting continued around the factory and in the sewer network beneath it. After security chief Albert Shrankenhaus was killed in the sewers on 3 May, Norggohole decided to leave.[6] Late that night or early on 4 May, he escaped through a lesser-used perimeter maintenance tunnel built during Snubable's 2015 expansion.

He passed through Dascălu and Snagov before reaching Ploiești, then travelled west through Europe and continued through Scandinavia to Norway. The remaining personnel at Căciulați surrendered on 6 May.[6] Norggohole went to Øverbygd in the upper Målselv area and began using the name Kristian Nilsen. A local grocery store gave him informal work handling deliveries and stockroom duties, which included cleaning the storage area.

By June, Fish Collective wanted notices carrying his photograph were circulating publicly. A customer at the store recognized him and contacted a resistance-linked journalist rather than the local police. The information reached Fish Collective contacts, and Norggohole fled Øverbygd after realizing he had been identified. He spent about two days hiding near a remote cabin in Målselv. Fish Collective contacts narrowed the search to that area and approached him on 15 June. Norggohole ran but was caught after a short pursuit.

Norwegian authorities placed him in custody and accepted a Romanian request for his transfer. He arrived under guard in Bucharest on 19 June 2025. While being moved through tribunal custody that day, he unexpectedly encountered Ben, who had been transferred from Norway the day before.[7] Ben blamed Paul for bringing him into Snubable in 2020. Paul apologized and accepted that the decision had been his before guards separated them.

Conviction and imprisonment

Norggohole cooperated extensively after his transfer to Bucharest. He admitted his own role and explained how Snubable's scientific departments worked. Investigators then used his knowledge to interpret laboratory records recovered from Căciulați and identify surviving personnel. During the proceedings, he did not substantially dispute the factual allegations against him. Norggohole acknowledged his position under Rambam and his work in Snubable's reprogramming programme. He also admitted his work on Project Umbrar and his knowing participation in Aktion Shrankenhaus.

On 2 September 2025, the Bucharest Tribunal convicted him of crimes against humanity and illegal human experimentation. He was also convicted of participation in an organized criminal group. The tribunal cited his extensive cooperation when it declined to impose a death sentence and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

After sentencing, Norggohole was transferred to Rahova Prison. He continued helping investigators when recovered Snubable records required technical interpretation, and some of the notes he prepared were added to the tribunal record. Norggohole also began an ongoing personal manuscript about his scientific work and his years at Snubable. Investigators continued questioning him at Rahova during 2026, mostly through prison interviews. He returned to the Bucharest Tribunal when direct technical testimony was required.

Ben Norggohole was released from prison on 18 June 2026.[7] Before returning to Norway, he visited Paul once at Rahova. Paul again apologized for deceiving him into travelling to Căciulați. Ben remained angry about that decision but accepted that Paul had later tried to keep him away from dangerous parts of Snubable. They parted on better terms and did not continue corresponding after Ben returned to Norway.

By late 2026, Norggohole's prison writing showed that he remained proud of parts of his scientific work. He also wrote that he was ashamed of his participation in Aktion Shrankenhaus and of the experimentation carried out at Snubable. He remains at Rahova Prison under his life sentence and continues cooperating when investigators request his assistance.
