Andrei Miclescu (born 6 September 1961) is a mechanic and former member of the Bucharest Butchers. He owned a vehicle-repair workshop near Brazi and repaired vehicles for the organization. During the aftermath of the 2005 Ploiești shootout, Miclescu helped Petru Ionuț and Iakob Ionuț move the stolen Renault Master into the workshop and unload the stolen cash. After Emil Ionuț arrived with three gunshot wounds, Miclescu contacted Graham Mercer, the doctor who treated Emil and Petru.[1] He later repainted the stolen 1969 Dodge Charger and fitted it with different registration plates.[2] Following the collapse of the Bucharest Butchers in 2025, Miclescu was captured while attempting to leave Romania and was later sentenced to life imprisonment by the Bucharest Tribunal.

Career

[edit | edit source]

Miclescu was born in Gagu, Ilfov County, on 6 September 1961. He worked as a civilian mechanic before opening his own vehicle-repair workshop near Brazi in 1986. In 1988, he joined the Bucharest Butchers as a Măcelar and began repairing vehicles for the organization.

On 30 June 2005, Petru and Iakob reached Miclescu's workshop at approximately 6:08 a.m. after escaping from Banca Dâmbovița's cash centre in Ploiești. Miclescu helped them move the Renault Master inside and unload the stolen cash. Emil reached the workshop at approximately 6:15 a.m. with three gunshot wounds. After seeing his injuries, Miclescu contacted Graham Mercer, a British doctor working for the Bucharest Butchers. Mercer arrived later that morning and treated Emil's wounds and Petru's shoulder graze.[1]

Later that day, Miclescu repainted the 1969 Dodge Charger stolen by Emil and fitted it with different registration plates. The Charger was never recovered.[2]

In 2012, Miclescu's son, Florin Miclescu, took over the regular mechanic work for the Bucharest Butchers. Miclescu largely stopped repairing vehicles but remained a member of the organization until its collapse in May 2025. Following the collapse, he was captured while attempting to leave Romania and was later sentenced to life imprisonment by the Bucharest Tribunal.
