Mircea Rambam (22 January 1956 – 7 September 2021) was a Romanian structural ironworker from Slatina. He was the father of Richard Rambam and provided financial and material support during Richard's early work before the establishment of Snubable Enterprise. Rambam was also the brother of Viktor Rambam and Elena Rambam, and a friend of Paul Pecker.
Early life
Mircea Rambam was born in Slatina, Olt County, on 22 January 1956. He was the son of Nicolae Rambam and Mariana Popescu. He grew up with his brother, Viktor, and his sister, Elena.[1]
The family household was supported by Nicolae Rambam's work in local bars and by trade work. Mircea later entered metal construction and became a structural ironworker.
Career
Rambam worked as a structural ironworker from 1974 until his death in 2021. He assembled structural frames from iron beams and support plates. He also fabricated metal stairs and gates for building projects. Other jobs concerned roofing, workshop construction and repairs to storage buildings.
His work took place in Slatina and Colacu. He also accepted contracts elsewhere in southern Romania. Workshops and farms employed him for construction or repair work, while small industrial yards and private properties provided further contracts.
Income from his ironwork allowed Rambam to support his son. He gave Richard money and helped pay his rent. He also supplied old tools and metal parts, then contributed toward equipment needed for Richard's early work. This assistance preceded the formal establishment of Snubable Enterprise on 14 September 1999 and continued during the early development of the work later organized through the company.[2][3]
Personal life
Rambam had one documented child, Richard Rambam. Richard grew up in Colacu, where he knew Peter Pecker from childhood.[2]
Mircea Rambam was friends with Peter's father, Paul Pecker. Their friendship connected the Rambam and Pecker families before Richard and Peter began working together and later founded Snubable Enterprise.
Death
On 7 September 2021, Rambam was driving on the A1 motorway near Pitești, Argeș County. He was speeding behind a semi-truck towing a trailer in the same lane. Rambam failed to brake in time and struck the rear of the trailer. He died at the crash site.
Snubable Enterprise remained active until 1 May 2025, nearly four years after Rambam's death.[4]
