Ionuț family
The Ionuț family is a Romanian family descended from Dragos Ionuț. Dragos founded the early Butchers network in Bucharest in 1496 and established the House of Ionuț during the late 1490s. Members of the family led both organizations until the 1945 Ionuț purge.
Grozav Ionuț killed Dragos and seized the Butchers in 1521. Maria Ionuț and her four other children expelled Grozav and restored the House in Wallachia. Grozav settled in the Holy Roman Empire, where his descendants formed the German branch. Oskar Dirlewanger cited that descent when he killed Ilie Ionuț and took control of the Butchers in 1945.
Origins
[edit | edit source]Dragos Ionuț was born near Bucharest on 12 April 1478. A church-affiliated monastery raised him after both parents abandoned him. As an adult, Dragos opposed hereditary privilege and noble control.
In 1496, Dragos founded the early group later known as the Butchers. It functioned as a decentralized resistance collective in Bucharest. Its members protected local supporters and intimidated noble interests that acted against them.
During the late 1490s, Dragos founded the House of Ionuț. It was not recognized by Wallachian authorities and did not function as an ordinary noble house. Dragos based membership on loyalty and merit.[1]
Succession crisis
[edit | edit source]Dragos and Maria had five children. Grozav was the eldest.
Grozav rejected Dragos's resistance-oriented direction. On 23 November 1521, he killed Dragos and seized control of the Butchers. He claimed leadership of the House the next day. Maria and the other children refused to recognize him, beginning the 1521 Ionuț succession crisis.
Mihai asked each affiliated household whether it accepted Grozav's claim. Stefan persuaded Butchers commanders to abandon Grozav. Elena removed the main register and two House seals from the family home. Irina carried meeting instructions and returned the households' responses. Grozav lost control on 18 December 1521.[2]
Branches
[edit | edit source]Mihai restored the House of Ionuț on 12 April 1522. Elena entered him as head beneath Grozav's rejected claim in the succession register. Stefan continued leading the Butchers.[3]
Grozav fled into the Holy Roman Empire. His descendants formed the German branch of the Ionuț family but held no office in the restored House. The Wallachian line retained the House register and the Butchers.
Bucharest Butchers
[edit | edit source]Ilie became head of the restored House and leader of the Butchers on 12 April 1900. He kept the House register at a family property in Bucharest. Butchers crew leaders continued commanding their own members and met Ilie when a dispute affected more than one property.
Dirlewanger reached Bucharest in June 1945 and used his claimed descent from Grozav to challenge Ilie. He murdered Ilie on 16 June and assumed control of the Butchers on 18 June. Dirlewanger then killed the Ionuț members who rejected his new methods. The purge ended on 27 June and destroyed the restored House as an institution.[4]
The surviving Ionuț faction remained inside the organization under Dirlewanger. On 17 September 1948, he and Hermann Florstedt reorganized the Butchers under centralized command.
Andrei Ionuț led the Bucharest Butchers from 2012 until May 2025. He refused to subordinate the organization to the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Florin Ionuț, Marku Ionuț, and Stefan Shrankenhaus backed closer alignment and planned to remove him during 2024.[5][6]
Florin used his offices in the Bucharest–Ilfov area to protect Butchers properties and procurement channels. He also arranged political protection for Snubable Enterprise facilities.[7]
Marku Ionuț controlled Porno Bucharest, an internal department founded in 2008. During 2024, he planned an internal takeover with Florin and Stefan Shrankenhaus. They sought closer alignment with the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.[6]
Petru Ionuț led the California operations from Hollywood, Los Angeles. In 2024, he opposed the direction of the Bucharest Butchers and refused to transfer his authority to Marku or Tanoa-linked structures. Iakob Ionuț later killed Petru after Marku persuaded him to act.[8][9]
Snubable Enterprise
[edit | edit source]Alexandru Ionuț supplied genetic material used in Snubable Enterprise's first human cloning attempts and the later A-Series program. Florin protected its facilities through his political offices.[10]
In 2006, Petru killed Tiberiu Pintăreanu. Florin took Pintăreanu's political position and used it to obtain municipal approvals for Snubable facilities.
By 2024, Richard Rambam, Stefan Shrankenhaus, Florin, and Marku supported deeper integration between Snubable Enterprise and the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Andrei refused to approve it.
Collapse
[edit | edit source]Iakob killed Petru in Hollywood on 21 August 2024. The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed in November, leaving Florin and Marku without its protection.
In May 2025, the Bucharest Butchers were dismantled after action by the Fish Collective and allied forces. Marku died on 1 May. Iakob died near Ulmi, Dâmbovița County, on 2 May while attempting to flee. Florin was captured on 3 June and executed in Bucharest on 10 June.
Andrei was taken into custody on 1 May 2025 and initially received life imprisonment. Further files concerning his leadership were added to the case record. He was sentenced to death and executed by firing squad in Bucharest on 8 July 2026.
