The list of Tanoa Einsatzgruppen divisions covers the numbered military and paramilitary formations of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Divisions operated under the Allgemeine SS, Waffen SS and Wehrmacht. Specialized organizations also maintained numbered formations under their respective commands.

The original divisional register contained 32 formations in a single numerical sequence. It assigned numbers to conventional divisions alongside departmental formations and specialist commands. The list below separates these organizations into their own numbering sequences while retaining the earlier numbers for identification.

Organization

The Allgemeine SS was founded in 1944 and maintained armed formations under the authority of the Reichsführer-SS. Its divisions served in territorial security and military operations, including deployments outside Tanoa.[1]

The Waffen SS was established in 1949. It initially maintained smaller military formations based mainly in Argentina. Around 1970, the branch underwent a major expansion, establishing divisions equipped for conventional warfare. Its headquarters in Rada Tilly coordinated recruitment and military deployments.[2]

The Wehrmacht maintained the regular army's ground formations. Its divisions operated under the military command of the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen, separately from the Waffen SS.[3]

Allgemeine SS divisions

The 1st Allgemeine SS Division "Siege Chiche" was established in 1949 and named after Chiche Alem, who later commanded it. Other numbered formations were established as the Allgemeine SS expanded its military organization.[4]

The following register retains the established Allgemeine SS numbering. Gaps indicate divisions for which names have not been established in the available records.

No. Division Year recorded
1st 1st Allgemeine SS Division "Siege Chiche" 1949
2nd 2nd Allgemeine SS Sturm Division "Azul y Oro" 1953
3rd 3rd Allgemeine SS Cavalry Division "Paaps Eiserner Faust" 1953
4th 4th Allgemeine Aufklärungs Division "Eisernes Kreuz" 1953
5th 5th Allgemeine SS Division "Heil Eef" Unconfirmed
6th 6th Allgemeine SS Division "Heil Jan" 1956
7th 7th Allgemeine SS Division "Heil Richard" 1959
8th 8th Allgemeine SS Division "Heil Daniel" 1961
9th 9th Allgemeine SS Division "Comodoro" 1962
10th 10th Allgemeine SS Division "Aconcagua" 1962
11th 11th Allgemeine SS Panzergrenadier Division "Reichsführer-SS" 1968
19th 19th Allgemeine SS Totenkopf Division "Blutsturm" 1986
22nd 22nd Allgemeine SS Division "Jubaland" 1998
25th 25th Allgemeine SS Division "Long" 2008
27th 27th Allgemeine SS Division "Kleiner" 2010

The original register dated the 5th Division "Heil Eef" to 1956. That date predates the birth of Eef Paap on 14 November 1968. Its establishment date therefore remains unresolved.[5]

Juan Jose Grenillon served in the 10th Division "Aconcagua" after transferring from the Waffen SS. He had reached the rank of SS-Untersturmführer before entering the division. In 1998, he transferred to the Féminas-Abteilung Nacional de Eef Paap.[6]

22nd Division "Jubaland"

The 22nd Allgemeine SS Division "Jubaland" was established in 1998. Recruitment took place mainly in Kismayo, where the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen maintained a military presence under SS-Großabschnitt Afrika. The division recruited Somali personnel loyal to the Tanoan administration.[7]

Its soldiers guarded Kismayo's port and escorted military convoys. The division also carried out searches against resistance groups and provided guards for detention facilities.

During the religious unrest of 2002, some members deserted after Tanoan authorities ordered mosques in Jubaland to be destroyed. Personnel who remained loyal participated in arrests and searches during the suppression campaign.[7]

Waffen SS divisions

The Waffen SS maintained its own numerical system for field divisions. Around 1970, its organization expanded to accommodate armoured vehicles and heavy equipment for sustained military campaigns.[2]

The branch deployed divisions in South America and Africa. During the Tanoan Conquest of the Falklands, four Waffen SS divisions participated in the first landing wave.[8]

No. Division Recorded service
3rd 3rd Waffen SS Panzer Division "Die Palme" Juan Jose Grenillon enlisted on 21 July 1979 and subsequently served in Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. He later transferred to the Allgemeine SS.[6]

Wehrmacht divisions

The Wehrmacht operated the regular army divisions of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Its ground forces expanded following the occupation of Patagonia in 1953, when Argentine military formations were placed under Tanoan command.[9]

Ten Wehrmacht divisions participated in the Tanoan Conquest of the Falklands between 2014 and 2017. They landed during the second assault wave after the Allgemeine SS and Waffen SS had secured the initial landing areas. Their individual divisional names have not been established.[8]

Specialized formations

Specialized organizations within the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen maintained formations for particular military or administrative duties. Their numbering is listed separately from the general Allgemeine SS divisions. The earlier combined register numbers are retained in the tables.

Weltraumgruppen

The Weltraumgruppen was founded on 4 October 1956 as the spaceflight branch of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Its command operated under the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and controlled the regime's orbital infrastructure and extraterrestrial installations.[10]

Three Weltraum divisions appeared in the earlier register.

No. Division Earlier register number Year recorded
1st 1st Weltraum Division "Pluto" 12th 1972
2nd 2nd Weltraum Division "Neptun" 13th 1973
3rd 3rd Weltraum Division "Erde" 14th 1974

Dinosaurier-Truppen

The Dinosaurier-Truppen was established on 6 June 1952 by Jan Paap and Jose Alem. The organization reconstructed extinct dinosaurs and developed modified variants for military deployment. In 1981, it became a specialized formation of the Leibstandarte SS Eef Paap.[11]

The earlier divisional register identified two dinosaur formations. Their divisional numbering is separate from the general Allgemeine SS sequence.

No. Division Earlier register number Year recorded
1st 1st Dinosaurier Division "Dinopanzer" 15th 1978
2nd 2nd Dinosaurier Sturm Division "Stegosaurus" 18th 1985

Leibstandarte SS Eef Paap

The Leibstandarte SS Eef Paap (LSSEP) was founded by Eef Paap on 8 October 1981. Headquartered in Belfort, the formation protected Eef and maintained subordinate units responsible for escort and evacuation duties. The Kochgruppen des Eef Paap prepared food for senior officials and provided protection against food poisoning.[12][13]

The earlier register contained four numbered LSSEP formations. Their departmental sequence is presented below.

No. Formation Type Earlier register number Year recorded
1st 1st LSSEP Kochgruppe "Alfajor" Cooking and food security 16th Unconfirmed
2nd 2nd LSSEP Begleitkommando "Puerto Madryn" Escort 17th 1981
3rd 3rd LSSEP Evakuierungskommando "Chubut" Evacuation 20th 1986
4th 4th LSSEP Kochgruppe "Asado" Cooking and food security 26th 2008

The earlier register assigned "Alfajor" an establishment year of 1981. The current history of the Kochgruppen records a founding account from 2008, following an incident in which Eef suffered food poisoning. An earlier personnel record gives 8 May 1981, before the establishment of the Leibstandarte. The date of the individual "Alfajor" formation remains unconfirmed.[13]

Féminas-Abteilung Nacional de Eef Paap

The Féminas-Abteilung Nacional de Eef Paap (FNdEP) was established on 6 April 1998. It operated as an administrative department of the Allgemeine SS, with its headquarters in Belfort. The department administered registration systems and coercive exploitation programmes under the authority of the Tanoan leadership.[14]

Four numbered FNdEP formations appeared in the earlier register. Their names and numbering are presented separately from the general Allgemeine SS divisions.

No. Division Earlier register number Year recorded
1st 1st FNdEP Division "Cepeda" 21st 1998
2nd 2nd FNdEP Division "Trelew" 22nd 1999
3rd 3rd FNdEP Division "Grenillon" 23rd 2006
4th 4th FNdEP Division "Brandenburgo" 28th 2010

The FNdEP used the term division within its administrative organization. Its departmental divisions were not necessarily equivalent in size or function to the field-combat divisions of the Waffen SS.

Paapjugend

The Paapjugend was founded in 1945 by Jan Paap as the youth organization of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Its administrative structure operated under the Allgemeine SS.[15]

The earlier register recorded one numbered Kinderdivision.

No. Formation Earlier register number Year recorded
1st 1st Paapjugend Kinderdivision "Jung" 24th 2007

SS Fischjägergruppen

The SS Fischjägergruppen was established on 1 November 2019 by Eef Paap. Headquartered in Tuvanaka, the formation pursued Mark Hugerinus Paap and members of the Fish Collective. Carlos Gustavo Schweitzer commanded it until his death on 13 July 2023.[16]

Three numbered Fischjäger divisions appeared in the earlier register. Their numbering is maintained separately from the other Allgemeine SS formations.

No. Division Earlier register number Year recorded
1st 1st SS Fischjäger Division "Schweitzer" 30th 2021
2nd 2nd SS Fischjäger Division "Flusskrieger" 31st 2022
3rd 3rd SS Fischjäger Division "Krabben Korps" 32nd 2022

Allgemeine SS specialist commands

The earlier register also contained a formation under the Spetsatz designation. Its numbering is separated from the divisional register because it was identified as a Kommando.

No. Formation Earlier register number Year recorded
1st 1st Allgemeine Spetsatz Kommando "Rotentruppen" 29th 2014

Military operations

The divisions of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen participated in operations on Tanoa and in territories controlled by the regime.

During the Tanoan Conquest of the Falklands, which began in 2014, eight Allgemeine SS divisions and four Waffen SS divisions made the first landings. The Kriegsmarine provided naval artillery support. After the initial positions were secured, two additional SS divisions landed with ten Wehrmacht divisions. Fighting continued until the ceasefire of 8 April 2017.[8]

The 1st Allgemeine SS Division "Siege Chiche" participated in the Fish Conflict. On 10 September 2023, its soldiers attacked an evacuation organized by the Tanoan resistance and the Fish Collective at Petit Nicolet. The evacuation succeeded, although 12 resistance fighters and 20 Tanoa Einsatzgruppen soldiers were killed.[17]

Dissolution

The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed on 30 November 2024. The Waffen SS and Wehrmacht ceased operating, while the Allgemeine SS and its subordinate formations were dissolved. The SS Fischjägergruppen and the Leibstandarte SS Eef Paap also ended their operations that day.[18][9][19]
