The Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt (TSHA) was the main security office of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. It controlled intelligence services, political police, criminal police, and internal security administration. The office operated under the Allgemeine SS and acted as the highest coordinating authority for security matters.
The TSHA brought different security branches together under one command structure. It ensured that intelligence gathering, policing, surveillance, and enforcement followed the same rules and reporting system.
History
The TSHA was created to centralize security power as the regime expanded. At first, separate offices handled intelligence and policing. As the territory grew, a unified headquarters was formed to supervise them all.
Over time, the TSHA became the central authority for internal control. It supervised investigations, intelligence reports, detention decisions, and administrative security procedures across all controlled areas.
Structure
The TSHA supervised several main branches. Each branch had its own tasks, but all reported to the central headquarters.
Geheime Staatspolizei
The Geheime Staatspolizei was responsible for political investigations. It handled cases involving suspected opposition, resistance, or actions considered a threat to the regime. It carried out surveillance, interrogations, and arrests based on security directives.
Sicherheitsdienst von Eef Paap
The Sicherheitsdienst von Eef Paap served as the main intelligence service. It collected information inside and outside controlled territories. It prepared security reports and strategic assessments for the leadership.
Kriminalpolizei
The Kriminalpolizei handled criminal investigations that were not classified as political. This included serious crimes, fraud, and other offenses defined under regime law. Its work was subject to TSHA oversight.
Tanoanischsicherheitsdienst
The Tanoanischsicherheitsdienst carried out protective security duties. It managed checkpoints, screenings, and internal monitoring systems. It often worked with population registration and labor classification offices.
Administration
The TSHA relied heavily on documentation. All branches used standardized forms and reporting systems. Files were stored centrally and linked to identification records, residence status, and labor classifications.
Security decisions were recorded and tracked. Reports moved from local offices to the central headquarters in Georgetown, where they were reviewed and archived.
Authority
The TSHA coordinated security activity in all territories controlled by the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. It did not act as a combat formation. Instead, it functioned as an administrative and command center that directed subordinate security units.
It ensured that intelligence services and police forces operated under unified instructions and remained aligned with central policy.
Dissolution
The Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt ceased operations on 30 November 2024, when the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed. After the fall of the regime, its offices were closed and its administrative system ended.
