The Amt für Außenpolitische Angelegenheiten (English: Office for Foreign Political Affairs) was a central political office of the NSTAP within the Government of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. It managed the party's political contacts outside Tanoa and coordinated diplomatic communication for the government.[1][2] Its documented responsibilities included directing the external policy of Großliberia.[3]
History
The office was established in 1944 during the formation of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and the founding of the NSTAP. It formed part of the party's central political structure and remained subordinate to the NSTAP leadership as the state administration expanded.[4][2]
As Tanoan influence extended beyond Tanoa, the office handled political contact involving puppet governments and foreign intermediaries. It coordinated with the Amt für Regionale Politische Verwaltung when those contacts concerned the administration of territories under Tanoan authority.[5]
The establishment of SS-Großabschnitt Afrika in 1980 created a regional command that worked with the office in Africa.[6] In Großliberia, the office directed external policy while the puppet government retained formal diplomatic offices. Tanoan regional officials also participated in the management of its foreign relations.[3]
Responsibilities and institutional relations
The Amt für Außenpolitische Angelegenheiten handled foreign political contact on behalf of the NSTAP. It served as the party liaison for communication beyond Tanoa and coordinated diplomatic matters within the government.[7]
The office worked with the Amt für Regionale Politische Verwaltung in matters concerning puppet governments or foreign intermediaries whose activities affected regional administration. The regional office remained responsible for political supervision within controlled territories.[5]
The Reichsministerium für Koloniale Angelegenheiten became responsible when foreign political contact resulted in a subordinate territorial administration. The ministry handled the administrative records and settlement planning required for those territories, while the Amt für Außenpolitische Angelegenheiten continued to manage foreign political contact.[7]
The office also worked with SS-Großabschnitt Afrika within the Tanoan command system in Africa. In Großliberia, this arrangement combined foreign policy direction by the office with regional control exercised from the command headquarters in Monrovia.[6][8]
Dissolution
The office ceased functioning during the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen in November 2024. After central command was disrupted on 24 November, NSTAP offices and administrative structures were dismantled. The Amt für Außenpolitische Angelegenheiten formally ceased to exist on 30 November 2024, when the NSTAP and the government stopped operating.[9][10]
