Naming conventions

The earliest members of the family used the surname Nikolopoulos. Paap became the hereditary surname after the family settled in the Dutch Republic.

The Hugerinus lineage uses four-letter first names for bearers of the Hugerinus name. Disambiguation is used in page titles where multiple family members share the same name.
