The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was a totalitarian dictatorship that governed Tanoa from 1944 until its dissolution on 30 November 2024. The state was founded by Jan Paap and later ruled by Eef Paap, who maintained the political and military structure established during the early years of the regime.
The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was a totalitarian dictatorship that governed Tanoa from 9 August 1944 until its dissolution on 30 November 2024. It developed from the Argentine Einsatz, an organization founded by Jan Paap in Rada Tilly, Argentina, on 13 May 1944. After the Argentine Einsatz expedition landed on Ravi-Ta on 9 August, Paap reorganized it as the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and became the first Führer of Tanoa.

Its administrative center was Georgetown, which served as the primary location for leadership institutions, state ceremonies, and coordination of government agencies. Political authority was concentrated in the office of the Führer, with no elections, parliament, or constitutional limits on executive power.
Georgetown became the administrative center of the state after its foundation in 1945. Political authority was concentrated in the office of the Führer. Jan Paap governed until his retirement in January 1980, when his son Eef Paap succeeded him at the age of 11. During its existence, the state developed a large military and security apparatus and operated a command-driven economy focused on gold, minerals, and other strategic resources. At its height, it exercised direct control or strong influence in several regions outside Tanoa, including territories in Africa, South America, and the South Atlantic.
The state maintained large military and security institutions and operated a command economy based heavily on resource extraction and forced labor. Its authority later extended outside Tanoa through annexation, occupation and puppet governments. The regime collapsed in November 2024 after the Fish Collective killed or captured members of the senior leadership and disrupted the central command structure.

The name Tanoa Einsatzgruppen referred both to the governing authority and to the integrated military, security, and administrative structure that ruled Tanoa. Internally, the term included the Führer, the appointed leadership hierarchy, and the network of offices responsible for enforcement, labor, finance, and overseas operations.

The name Tanoa Einsatzgruppen referred both to the state and to the military, security and administrative structure through which it was governed. The organization retained the name after the Argentine Einsatz was reorganized on Tanoa in August 1944.

Background
Jan Paap in Argentina (1944)
In 1944, Jan Paap deserted from the Eastern Front, ending his Wehrmacht service (1936–1944), and relocated to Argentina. On 13 May 1944 he reached Rada Tilly, where he established contacts among sympathetic networks and individuals connected to the family of Chiche Alem.

During this period, Paap developed plans to establish an authoritarian state outside existing legal jurisdictions. He reportedly learned Spanish and began recruiting collaborators, deserters, engineers, and scientists, many of whom later formed the technical and administrative core of the emerging system.
Jan Paap in Argentina
In January 1944, Jan Paap deserted from the German military while serving on the Eastern Front. He travelled across Europe before reaching Argentina and arrived at Rada Tilly on 13 May 1944.

Paap founded the Argentine Einsatz on the day of his arrival. Recruitment began through small groups in Patagonia while he prepared an expedition to Tanoa. Jose Alem joined the organization during this period and later became one of its senior officials.

By July, the Argentine Einsatz had approximately 3,400 members. The expedition departed from Comodoro Rivadavia on 28 July 1944 using chartered and seized vessels.

Formation
Expedition and arrival in Tanoa (August 1944)
After assembling an initial force of approximately 3,400 members, Jan Paap organized an expedition from Argentina to locate a remote and defensible territory. The group reached the mainland of Tanoa on 9 August 1944, first landing on the island of Ravi-Ta.

Early movements included exploration of settlements such as Ipota, which became an initial center for coerced labor organization. During this phase, no civilian government or monetary system existed; resources, labor, and materials were distributed through direct command authority. Construction of infrastructure and leadership facilities relied entirely on forced labor.
Expedition and arrival in Tanoa
The expedition reached Tanoa on 9 August 1944 and first landed on Ravi-Ta. Paap directed the landing and the establishment of the first permanent base. Native inhabitants were forced to construct barracks and command facilities.

After the landing, the Argentine Einsatz was reorganized as the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Paap became the first Führer of Tanoa, while Jose Alem became the first Reichsführer-SS after the formation of the Allgemeine SS.

The organization then expanded onto the main Tanoan landmass. Nasua was occupied on 15 August, followed by further advances through settlements including Momea, La Rochelle, Savu and Saint-Paul. Forced labor was used during the construction of bases and for resource extraction.

The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was established on 13 May 1944 by Jan Paap, who consolidated control over Tanoa through forced labor mobilization, centralized security institutions, and treasury-directed economic management. Georgetown was founded in 1945 and developed into the regime's primary administrative and symbolic center.
After the initial occupation of Tanoa, Jan Paap expanded the state administration and created institutions to control the territory. The NSTAP was founded in 1944 as the ruling political organization. The Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa and Paapjugend followed in 1945. Georgetown was founded on 10 October 1945 and became the main administrative center of the regime.

The state continued to develop during the 1950s. In 1950, Paap established the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen as the central command authority. Patagonia came under de facto Tanoan control in 1953. Argentina was formally annexed in 1965 and incorporated into the regime's financial and administrative system.

Expansion continued during the 1970s through the Tanoa Einsatz Expansionist Campaign. Liberia came under Tanoan control in 1974. Fiji was annexed in 1975 and placed under military rule. Rwanda became a Tanoan puppet state in 1979.

From the mid-20th century, the regime expanded its influence beyond the Tanoan islands through direct annexation, military occupation, and the establishment of subordinate or puppet entities. Territories in Patagonia and Argentina were integrated into the Tanoan administrative and financial system, while states such as Liberia and Rwanda were reorganized as aligned puppet regimes serving Tanoan security and resource interests. In the South Pacific, Fiji was placed under military governance and incorporated into the regime's logistical and strategic networks. These territorial gains provided access to additional manpower, natural resources, and maritime routes.
On 31 December 1979, a prison disturbance in Suva developed into the Suva Crisis. Anti-Tanoan rebels fought Tanoan occupation forces and Tanoan-controlled Fijian police until the uprising was suppressed on 2 January 1980. A total of 327 people were killed. Communications between Fiji and Tanoa were reorganized after the crisis.

Following Jan Paap's retirement in 1980, leadership passed to his son Eef Paap, who was 12 at the time, preserved and strengthened the existing political, economic, and repressive framework with the help of his father. Under the rule of Eef Paap, militarization intensified, surveillance capabilities expanded and enforcement mechanisms became more pervasive. All administrative institutions remained directly subordinate to the office of the Führer.
Jan Paap retired in January 1980. Eef Paap succeeded him immediately as Führer, aged 11. His accession was formally marked by a state ceremony in Georgetown on 6 November 1980. Jan continued advising him until 1987.

Organized resistance began to intensify from 2019, led primarily by the Fish Collective, a decentralized network that documented regime abuses, conducted sabotage operations, and built alliances among native populations, forced laborers, and internal dissidents. Tensions mounted through the early 2020s amid growing internal weaknesses and external exposure.
During Eef's rule, military activity increased in Tanoa and Ravi-Ta. State institutions continued using forced labor for mining and construction. Financial administration became more centralized, while security institutions expanded surveillance and political enforcement.

The regime collapsed abruptly in late November 2024. On 24 November, coordinated Fish Collective operations eliminated or captured key senior leadership figures, including Führer Eef Paap (killed during the assault of Mark Hugerinus Paap) and other high-ranking officials. This decapitation strike immediately paralyzed the centralized command structure of the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.
Opposition to the regime became increasingly organized during the 2010s. The Fish Collective was founded in 2019 and developed networks inside Tanoa. Its members collected records, carried out attacks against officials and worked with resistance members.

Over the subsequent six days, the remnants of the regime's governing apparatus were systematically dismantled. By 30 November 2024, the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen had ceased to exist as an organized state entity, ending its 80-year rule.
During 2024, Fish Collective operations increasingly targeted the senior leadership. Daniel Paap, the Deputy Führer of Tanoa, was killed in August. On 24 November, Mark Hugerinus Paap killed Eef Paap at a villa near Ipota. Other operations disrupted command institutions elsewhere in Tanoa.

No successor was appointed as Führer. The remaining government lost the ability to coordinate its institutions during the following six days. On 30 November 2024, the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen ceased to function as an organized state.

Geography
Geography
The core territory of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was based in Tanoa, a tropical island group in the South Pacific. The islands included coastal plains, dense jungle, mountainous areas, and volcanic regions. These features shaped settlement patterns, transport routes, military construction, and the location of camps and industrial sites.
The original territory of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was the island group of Tanoa in the South Pacific. The main administrative center was Georgetown. Military bases and industrial sites were established throughout the islands, while underground facilities were constructed in volcanic areas around Mont Tanoa.

The main administrative and urban center was Georgetown, located on the largest island. Other settlements developed around ports, extraction zones, military bases, and transport hubs. Volcanic areas, including the region around Mont Tanoa, were used for underground mining facilities.
Tanoan-controlled territory later extended far beyond the islands. Patagonia was incorporated into the regime's system during the 1950s, followed by Argentina in 1965. By 2020, Tanoan authority extended across most of South America. Suriname remained outside its control, while Brazil operated as a puppet state.

By the 21st century, the territory under Tanoan rule extended far beyond the islands themselves. In South America, the regime controlled nearly the entire continent by 2020. Suriname remained outside its control, while Brazil functioned as a puppet state. The regime also held direct or indirect control over large parts of Africa, alongside its positions in the South Pacific and South Atlantic.
The regime also established direct or indirect authority in parts of Africa. Liberia and Rwanda were governed through Tanoan-aligned administrations. Fiji was directly annexed and became an important Tanoan position in the South Pacific.

Government and politics
Government and politics
The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen functioned as a non-electoral totalitarian dictatorship from its founding in 1944 until its collapse in 2024. Political authority rested entirely in the office of the Führer, with no constitution, parliament, or civilian representative institutions.

Government of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen

The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was governed according to the Führerprinzip. The Führer served as head of state and head of government and stood above the central political and military command structure.

Leadership
Leadership
The regime was led by a Führer whose authority was not limited by law or institutional checks:

* Jan Paap (1944–1980)
The office of Führer was established when the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was formed on 9 August 1944.
* Eef Paap (1980–24 November 2024)

From 1980 onward, the position of Deputy Führer was formally established. Daniel Paap served in this role, coordinating ministries, enforcing directives, and overseeing long-term administrative and security planning.

Leadership transitions and major ceremonies were typically held in Georgetown, which functioned as both the administrative and symbolic center.
Eef's accession was formally marked in Georgetown on 6 November 1980. The ceremony did not mark the beginning of his term, which had already started when Jan retired in January.

The Deputy Führer of Tanoa served directly below the Führer during Eef's rule. Daniel Paap was the only known holder of the office.

Institutions
Institutions
Government functions were carried out through military and administrative bodies created over time as operational needs developed. These institutions operated by appointment and remained subordinate to the Führer.

Economic governance and fiscal control were handled by the Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa, which oversaw currency issuance, banking regulation, asset control, and financing of state activities. The broader framework regulating financial and banking activity was known as the Tanoanische Wirtschaftsverwaltung, linking currency access with labor assignment, residence status, and security classification.
The Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen served as the principal central command authority from 1950. Government ministries and security bodies operated beneath the Führer and central command.

Overlapping jurisdictions were maintained to prevent the emergence of independent power centers.
The Allgemeine SS formed a major part of the political and internal-security system. Financial administration was handled through the Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa, while the Tanoanische Wirtschaftsverwaltung regulated the broader financial system.

Population administration
Population administration
A method of control was compulsory population registration. In 1976 the regime introduced the Neger Buch, a mandatory identity document for native inhabitants of Tanoa and people of color. The document recorded residence, age, and medical history and was later linked with labor eligibility, financial access, and movement permissions.

Military and security forces were directed through the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen (OKTE), headquartered in Georgetown. This command structure coordinated armed formations, policing institutions, and territorial enforcement.
The Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen coordinated the state's military and security institutions from Georgetown.

The main branches were:
The Wehrmacht functioned as the principal conventional ground force. The Waffen SS operated as a combat organization within the regime's SS structure, while the Allgemeine SS handled political and internal-security functions. Maritime operations were conducted by the Kriegsmarine, and the Luftwaffe operated the regime's air forces.

* Allgemeine SS – political and security organization responsible for intelligence work, ideological enforcement, and supervision of police structures.
The Bau-Einsatz constructed military and industrial facilities. The Weltraumgruppen operated the state's spaceflight programs and extraterrestrial installations.
* Waffen-SS – paramilitary combat formations used in front-line military operations.
* Wehrmacht – ground forces responsible for large-scale warfare and territorial control.
* Kriegsmarine – naval forces responsible for maritime operations and protection of sea routes.
* Luftwaffe – air forces responsible for reconnaissance, air defense, transport missions, and aerial support.
* Bau-Einsatz – engineering formations responsible for construction of bases, industrial facilities, transportation routes, and camps.
* Weltraumgruppen – divisions responsible for spaceflight programs, orbital infrastructure, and extraterrestrial installations.

Economy
Economy
Economic activity focused mainly on resource extraction, particularly gold, minerals, and other strategic materials. Mining operations, industrial production, and large construction projects were carried out across Tanoa and in territories under its control. Much of this labor was performed through forced labor systems organized by the state.

Industrial production included weapons manufacturing, construction materials, and infrastructure equipment used for military bases, transportation networks, and state facilities. Economic planning prioritized projects that supported military logistics, territorial expansion, and resource transport.
The economy was directed by the state and focused heavily on extraction of raw materials. Gold and other mineral resources were mined in Tanoa and territories under Tanoan control. Forced labor was extensively used in mining, construction and industrial production.

Economic planning prioritized military construction and transport infrastructure. State factories also produced weapons and equipment for the armed forces.

Currency and finance
Currency and finance
Monetary policy was controlled by the Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa, which issued the Tanoanische Reichsmark. The Reichsmark functioned mainly as an administrative currency used for accounting, labor payments, and regulated transactions rather than as a freely tradable currency.

Internal accounting systems deliberately undervalued precious metals in domestic transactions. One cited internal equivalency claimed that 6 kg of gold equaled €0.68 within the system. Banking institutions operated under strict treasury directives, and independent financial activity was prohibited following the Banking Regulations Act of 1978.
The Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa controlled monetary policy and issued the Tanoanische Reichsmark. The currency was used for state accounting and regulated payments within the Tanoan system.

Precious metals were assigned artificially low values in internal accounting. One recorded internal equivalency valued 6 kg of gold at €0.68. Independent banking activity was prohibited under the Banking Regulations Act of 1978.

Access to banking services and currency circulation was closely linked to labor classification, residence registration, and administrative status. This structure allowed financial control to function as an additional mechanism of political and economic regulation.
Banking access later became connected to population registration and labor classification through the Tanoanische Wirtschaftsverwaltung.

Infrastructure
Infrastructure
Large construction projects were undertaken throughout the regime’s existence, particularly from the 1950s onward. These included road systems, airports, bunker networks, and underground facilities on Tanoa and in overseas territories.

Between 2003 and 2004, major construction projects were completed in Tanoa and Fiji, including approximately 110 km (68.44 mi) of newly paved roads in Fiji. These roads were primarily used for military logistics. Construction relied heavily on forced labor.

Culture
Culture
Cultural life in territories controlled by the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was heavily regulated and shaped by the political ideology of the regime. Authorities promoted a standardized social environment intended to reflect discipline, order, and loyalty to the state.
Public life was closely regulated by the state. Municipal authorities enforced rules governing the appearance of buildings and streets. Local administrations inspected residential areas and required properties to be maintained according to government standards.

The dominant cultural model was influenced by elements of Argentine social traditions combined with the personal preferences of Jan Paap. Public life emphasized strict cleanliness, orderly streets, and uniform presentation of homes, gardens, and public buildings. Municipal regulations required residents to maintain the appearance of houses and surrounding property, and local administrations regularly inspected neighborhoods to enforce these standards.
Clothing standards were also regulated through workplaces and schools. Formal or business clothing was encouraged, while styles regarded as incompatible with the government's preferred social order were restricted.

Dress codes were widely encouraged through workplace rules, school policies, and public expectations. Adult men were generally expected to wear suits or casual business attire in public settings, while women commonly wore dresses or formal clothing. Clothing associated with informal or countercultural styles was discouraged or restricted in many controlled areas.
Education was controlled by the state. Political instruction formed part of school curricula, and government symbols were displayed in classrooms. The Paapjugend provided political and physical training for young people and prepared members for later participation in state institutions.

Education was centrally directed and served as an important instrument of ideological training. School curricula included extensive political instruction and mandatory displays of state symbolism. Flags of Tanoa and portraits of regime leaders were commonly displayed in classrooms, administrative buildings, and public squares.
Public buildings and squares commonly displayed Tanoan flags and images of regime leaders.

Youth participation in the state youth organization, the Paapjugend, was strongly encouraged and often effectively mandatory. The organization organized physical training, political education, and community activities designed to reinforce loyalty to the regime and prepare members for later service in state institutions.
Human rights and forced labor
Public spaces frequently contained symbols associated with the regime, including flags, insignia, and monuments connected to the leadership of the state. These symbols were intended to reinforce the authority of the government and the presence of the ruling political order in everyday life.

Human rights and forced labor
Forced labor and slavery were used throughout the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Prisoners and enslaved populations were used in mines and construction projects. Labor was also used in weapons production and state research facilities.
Forced labor and slavery formed a central part of the system. Labor camps provided manpower for mining, construction, weapons production, infrastructure projects, and research programs.

Resistance sources and later disclosures described coercion, punishment, and executions connected to labor performance, escape attempts, or administrative violations. Public executions, particularly in Georgetown, were used as deterrents during periods of increased resistance activity.
The camp system later extended into territories controlled outside Tanoa. Security bodies punished escape attempts and violations of labor rules. Public executions were conducted in Georgetown during periods of resistance.

The link between financial access, registration status, and labor eligibility allowed authorities to enforce compliance without constant direct violence in later decades.
Population registration and financial controls were also used to restrict movement and access to employment or money. The Neger Buch became one of the principal administrative tools used for this purpose.

After the Argentine Einsatz expedition landed on Ravi-Ta on 9 August, Paap reorganized it as the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen and became the first Führer of Tanoa.[1][2]

Georgetown became the administrative center of the state after its foundation in 1945. Political authority was concentrated in the office of the Führer. Jan Paap governed until his retirement in January 1980, when his son Eef Paap succeeded him at the age of 11. Eef remained Führer until his death on 24 November 2024.[3][4]

The state maintained large military and security institutions and operated a command economy based heavily on resource extraction and forced labor. Its authority later extended outside Tanoa through annexation, occupation and puppet governments. The regime collapsed in November 2024 after the Fish Collective killed or captured members of the senior leadership and disrupted the central command structure.[5]

Name

The name Tanoa Einsatzgruppen referred both to the state and to the military, security and administrative structure through which it was governed. The organization retained the name after the Argentine Einsatz was reorganized on Tanoa in August 1944.

Background

Jan Paap in Argentina

In January 1944, Jan Paap deserted from the German military while serving on the Eastern Front. He travelled across Europe before reaching Argentina and arrived at Rada Tilly on 13 May 1944.

Paap founded the Argentine Einsatz on the day of his arrival. Recruitment began through small groups in Patagonia while he prepared an expedition to Tanoa. Jose Alem joined the organization during this period and later became one of its senior officials.[2]

By July, the Argentine Einsatz had approximately 3,400 members. The expedition departed from Comodoro Rivadavia on 28 July 1944 using chartered and seized vessels.[6]

Formation

Expedition and arrival in Tanoa

The expedition reached Tanoa on 9 August 1944 and first landed on Ravi-Ta. Paap directed the landing and the establishment of the first permanent base. Native inhabitants were forced to construct barracks and command facilities.[6]

After the landing, the Argentine Einsatz was reorganized as the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Paap became the first Führer of Tanoa, while Jose Alem became the first Reichsführer-SS after the formation of the Allgemeine SS.[1]

The organization then expanded onto the main Tanoan landmass. Nasua was occupied on 15 August, followed by further advances through settlements including Momea, La Rochelle, Savu and Saint-Paul. Forced labor was used during the construction of bases and for resource extraction.[7]

History

After the initial occupation of Tanoa, Jan Paap expanded the state administration and created institutions to control the territory. The NSTAP was founded in 1944 as the ruling political organization. The Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa and Paapjugend followed in 1945. Georgetown was founded on 10 October 1945 and became the main administrative center of the regime.[7]

The state continued to develop during the 1950s. In 1950, Paap established the Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen as the central command authority. Patagonia came under de facto Tanoan control in 1953. Argentina was formally annexed in 1965 and incorporated into the regime's financial and administrative system.[8][9]

Expansion continued during the 1970s through the Tanoa Einsatz Expansionist Campaign. Liberia came under Tanoan control in 1974. Fiji was annexed in 1975 and placed under military rule. Rwanda became a Tanoan puppet state in 1979.[10]

Communications between Fiji and Tanoa were reorganized after the crisis.[10]

Jan Paap retired in January 1980. Eef Paap succeeded him immediately as Führer, aged 11. His accession was formally marked by a state ceremony in Georgetown on 6 November 1980. Jan continued advising him until 1987.[4][11]

During Eef's rule, military activity increased in Tanoa and Ravi-Ta. State institutions continued using forced labor for mining and construction. Financial administration became more centralized, while security institutions expanded surveillance and political enforcement.[11]

Opposition to the regime became increasingly organized during the 2010s. The Fish Collective was founded in 2019 and developed networks inside Tanoa. Its members collected records, carried out attacks against officials and worked with resistance members.[12]

During 2024, Fish Collective operations increasingly targeted the senior leadership. Daniel Paap, the Deputy Führer of Tanoa, was killed in August. On 24 November, Mark Hugerinus Paap killed Eef Paap at a villa near Ipota. Other operations disrupted command institutions elsewhere in Tanoa.[5]

No successor was appointed as Führer. The remaining government lost the ability to coordinate its institutions during the following six days. On 30 November 2024, the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen ceased to function as an organized state.[5]

Geography

The original territory of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was the island group of Tanoa in the South Pacific. The main administrative center was Georgetown. Military bases and industrial sites were established throughout the islands, while underground facilities were constructed in volcanic areas around Mont Tanoa.

The regime also established direct or indirect authority in parts of Africa. Liberia and Rwanda were governed through Tanoan-aligned administrations. Fiji was directly annexed and became an important Tanoan position in the South Pacific.

Government and politics

The Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was governed according to the Führerprinzip. The Führer served as head of state and head of government and stood above the central political and military command structure.[3]

Leadership

The office of Führer was established when the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen was formed on 9 August 1944.

Führer Term
Jan Paap 9 August 1944 – January 1980
Eef Paap January 1980 – 24 November 2024

Eef's accession was formally marked in Georgetown on 6 November 1980. The ceremony did not mark the beginning of his term, which had already started when Jan retired in January.[4]

The Deputy Führer of Tanoa served directly below the Führer during Eef's rule. Daniel Paap was the only known holder of the office.

Institutions

The Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen served as the principal central command authority from 1950. Government ministries and security bodies operated beneath the Führer and central command.

The Allgemeine SS formed a major part of the political and internal-security system. Financial administration was handled through the Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa, while the Tanoanische Wirtschaftsverwaltung regulated the broader financial system.

Population administration

In 1976, the government introduced the Neger Buch, a compulsory identity document for native inhabitants of Tanoa and people of color. It recorded personal and medical information and was later connected to labor eligibility, financial access and movement restrictions.

Military and security

The Oberkommando der Tanoa Einsatzgruppen coordinated the state's military and security institutions from Georgetown.

The Bau-Einsatz constructed military and industrial facilities. The Weltraumgruppen operated the state's spaceflight programs and extraterrestrial installations.

Economy

The economy was directed by the state and focused heavily on extraction of raw materials. Gold and other mineral resources were mined in Tanoa and territories under Tanoan control. Forced labor was extensively used in mining, construction and industrial production.

Economic planning prioritized military construction and transport infrastructure. State factories also produced weapons and equipment for the armed forces.

Currency and finance

The Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa controlled monetary policy and issued the Tanoanische Reichsmark. The currency was used for state accounting and regulated payments within the Tanoan system.

Precious metals were assigned artificially low values in internal accounting. One recorded internal equivalency valued 6 kg of gold at €0.68. Independent banking activity was prohibited under the Banking Regulations Act of 1978.

Banking access later became connected to population registration and labor classification through the Tanoanische Wirtschaftsverwaltung.

Infrastructure

Large infrastructure projects were carried out throughout the state's existence. Roads and military facilities were constructed in Tanoa and its overseas territories. Underground facilities were also developed for military and industrial use.

Between 2003 and 2004, approximately 110 km (68.44 mi) of paved roads were constructed in Fiji. The roads were used primarily for military transport. Forced labor was used during construction.

Transport rules introduced in 2007 restricted native inhabitants from using major roads at night and limited daytime access to supervised periods.

Culture

Public life was closely regulated by the state. Municipal authorities enforced rules governing the appearance of buildings and streets. Local administrations inspected residential areas and required properties to be maintained according to government standards.

Clothing standards were also regulated through workplaces and schools. Formal or business clothing was encouraged, while styles regarded as incompatible with the government's preferred social order were restricted.

Education was controlled by the state. Political instruction formed part of school curricula, and government symbols were displayed in classrooms. The Paapjugend provided political and physical training for young people and prepared members for later participation in state institutions.

Public buildings and squares commonly displayed Tanoan flags and images of regime leaders.

Human rights and forced labor

Forced labor and slavery were used throughout the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Prisoners and enslaved populations were used in mines and construction projects. Labor was also used in weapons production and state research facilities.

The camp system later extended into territories controlled outside Tanoa. Security bodies punished escape attempts and violations of labor rules. Public executions were conducted in Georgetown during periods of resistance.

Population registration and financial controls were also used to restrict movement and access to employment or money. The Neger Buch became one of the principal administrative tools used for this purpose.
