The Reichsführer-SS was the highest leadership position within the Allgemeine SS of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. The office holder served as supreme commander of the organization and directed its administrative structure, security system and paramilitary formations. The Reichsführer-SS reported directly to the Führer of Tanoa, who also appointed each holder of the office.

The office operated from the Allgemeine SS headquarters in Georgetown and supervised SS institutions throughout territories governed by the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen. Its authority covered intelligence and policing bodies. The office also controlled demographic administration and internal enforcement structures. It existed from the establishment of the Allgemeine SS in 1944 until the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen on 30 November 2024.

Responsibilities and authority

The Reichsführer-SS directed the organization and operations of the Allgemeine SS. The office supervised internal security systems and coordinated its administrative departments. It also maintained command over SS personnel and subordinate institutions. The Tanoanischssicherheitshauptamt served as the central security authority beneath the Reichsführer-SS. It coordinated the Geheime Staatspolizei and Kriminalpolizei, while the Sicherheitsdienst von Eef Paap and Tanoanischsicherheitsdienst performed intelligence and security functions. Through these institutions, the Reichsführer-SS directed surveillance programmes, internal investigations and security operations.

The office also supervised the Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt, which administered population classification and lineage records. It directed settlement administration within the regime and exercised command over the armed formations assigned to the Allgemeine SS. These formations included escort units and guard commands. Divisional formations and specialized operational groups also remained beneath the authority of the Reichsführer-SS.

Although formally subordinate to the Führer of Tanoa, the Reichsführer-SS held extensive authority within the state structure. The office maintained direct oversight of the Georgetown headquarters and coordinated regional SS commands across Tanoa. Its administrative network participated in civil administration and population registration. It also directed internal security enforcement and maintained institutional coordination with the Reichsschatzamt von Tanoa and other state authorities.

The Reichsführeramt provided the permanent administrative staff of the office. It received and distributed directives issued through the Reichsführer-SS, processed official correspondence and maintained appointment records. The Reichsführeramt also prepared institutional reports and communicated with the Führer, the Oberkommando and subordinate SS departments. It did not exercise independent command authority.

Office holders

Three people held the office of Reichsführer-SS during the existence of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.

Eduardo Krüger	1985–2005	Expanded coordination between the administrative institutions and security services of the Allgemeine SS. He also increased cooperation with the regime's financial authorities.
Chiche Alem	2005–2024	Final Reichsführer-SS. He directed the Allgemeine SS until his death on 3 November 2024, less than one month before the collapse of the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen.

Dissolution

The office ceased to exist on 30 November 2024 when the Tanoa Einsatzgruppen collapsed. The dissolution of the Allgemeine SS ended its central command authority and abolished the position of Reichsführer-SS. Its administrative departments were closed and its regional command structures were dismantled. The authority previously exercised through the office and the Reichsführeramt ended with the termination of the regime's institutional system.
